Sylvie bought a tiny house to have a permanent, full-time home for her and her teenage daughter.
Living tiny gives her more financial freedom. Her house will be paid for in 10 years, and she already has more flexibility to travel and spend time doing what she loves. She also hopes that her new minimalist lifestyle will allow her to help save money for her daughter’s studies when the time comes.

When they had a dream to travel and spend more time doing awesome things, they knew a tiny house could help them do more of that.

Sylvie’s beautiful tiny house is the Acacia model built by Minimaliste from l’Île d’Orléans in Quebec, Canada.

It was designed with 2 bedrooms, one on the main floor for Sylvie, and one for her daughter in the loft above. To ensure both women have privacy, Sylvie’s room has a sliding door, and her daughter’s loft has a folding door, and a wall on a pulley system.
The living area was designed around a comfortable 3-seater couch that easily folds into a double bed, and that has a lot of storage underneath.

There are two heat sources in the house, a Martin propane fireplace, and two electric induction panels. In the summer, there’s an air conditioning unit that can double as a dehumidifier. For all seasons, there’s a Lunos air exchange system to ensure fresh air is always being circulated without losing heat or cold air. This is very important if you’re living in a small space.

It’s beautiful. Really lovely! Looks comfortable and well organized, too. How often do you pull up roots? How much packing is necessary when you travel? The bedroom doors are a wonderful idea. Lots of good design ideas in this house.
I like this one a lot. Would only use the loft for company.😊
A really lovely Tiny House. I love the way that Sylvie has thought through the design, so that it is perfect for her and her daughter. Thank you for sharing this one.
Interesting to see that she now has 2 outside storage sheds! Horse riding is an activity that needs a lot of kit!
Enjoy your Tiny, Sylvie.
Very nice, But it doesn’t look too tiny to me..
Very nice, But doesn’t look very tiny to me..
Tiny is relative and it’s street legal and only 28′ long but it was designed to be her forever home…
Félicitations Sylvie! Excellente décision, et j’aime vraiment ta maison. Je pourrais y vivre sans rien y changer. Bonne chance!
