This is the Vento Sectional Sofa Bed by Franz Fertig.
It’s a modern sectional sofa, but it transforms into a comfortable double bed with a bedside table in a unique way.
Unfortunately, it starts out at $6,822 so nobody can really afford it and at that price point, it just wouldn’t be practical, but what do you think of the actual design?

Very nice for the elite, rich!
More like for the middle class because designer furniture, especially custom fabricated furniture, can go a lot higher…
Like a Fritz Hansen PK13 3 Seater Sofa goes for about a little over $43K…
On up to the most expensive couch in the world, which is the Ron Arad Stainless Steel Sofa that is worth around $300K!
When they say the gap between rich and poor has gotten wider, they’re not kidding!
But commercial furniture in general has gotten more expensive or use really cheap materials that won’t last and/or has chemical treatment that makes them less than healthy to use long term, which is why more and more people are getting into building their own furniture or re-purposing old/used furniture…
on first look it looks like a wonderful space saving idea, however, first snafoo is of course the price but second the middle would be incredibly uncomfortable I would think given that is where the pieces join, would be like pushing two twin beds together, what keeps them from sliding apart in the middle of the night and giving you a very uncomfortable surprise?
This is a better video of it that shows how the sections are latched together…

I’m glad people keep designing furniture along these lines. It doesn’t look very comfortable as a sofa, but it might be, and it wouldn’t be worse than the simple bench/beds that do-it-yourselfers make. Has anyone here sat on one?
I would love to see a DIY version of this. Or something similar to it.
There’s plenty of examples of DIY sectional seating that combines or re-arranges to form a bed… Like the one Ana White did…

On the really low cost side pallets are a pretty popular option as another example…

Most are modular and usually not single piece with moving parts but it’s not a new idea…
I love the large frame and comfortable look. But when it comes to modern sofas, especially modular ones, my personal favorite is by far the Mario Bellini sofa. This sofa made by this famous designer is very adaptable to any place you have thanks to its configurable feature, this is essential when you like to master each element of your layouts or maybe you have a current design where the piece needs to fit. I purchased this sofa from Manhattan Home Design, and so far my experience has been great! I totally recommend it if you want something different and with rounded edges.
Oh wow thanks so much Emma! Great to know about.
