Joshua Tree Romantic Tower Retreat with Rooftop Terrace

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a romantic tower retreat in Joshua Tree, CA that features a rooftop deck area with a cool round couch for lounging and watching the sun set (or rise).

You walk into the main living area with some comfortable seating, and then take a spiral staircase to the next level: The bedroom. A ladder takes you up to the roof (which is about the coolest part of the tower). To get clean after a long day of exploring the area, you’ll head to the outdoor shower. The getaway includes cable TV, internet connection, a heater, air conditioning, and free parking.

The amazing spiral staircase takes you upstairs.

Such sleek and simple decor touches in this home.

Tiny and perfect!

A little coffee station and mini-fridge right under the stairs.

Mini-split air conditioning system.

Now this is why I’d stay here! Look at that view.

Neat…I am not sure WHY you would do it. I would prefer something with a real bathroom. Maybe they needed a larger diameter water tank to start with? Just looking though, a very similar design to may favorite Pigalle Paris design just a lot smaller. An upper deck is a fine option but eight months of the year only usable before 10 A.M. or after 6 P.M. unless you WANT to fry. If you have never been in that part of the desert be aware of the wind…They don’t have those massive wind farms there for no reason. ALL of the Jackrabbits and Lizards pack canteens….Some really nice RV parks just up on the mountain west of here above 6500 ft. so a relatively short drive for some pine trees and terrific vistas… I had an old Desert Rat friend that would often find gold pockets here 40 years ago so there is a LOT of history nearby.
