This 330 Sq. Ft. Tiny Cottage Overlooking Blue Hill Bay is a guest post by Robin Charltonshare yours!

When not traveling I spend a part of each year helping to caretake our family property in Maine. It has been in our family for three generations and is a very special place.

I believe this Little Cottage would be a perfect example of a tiny house vacation. It’s one of only three cottages on our family’s property overlooking Blue Hill Bay and it’s just minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor in Maine.

This cozy cottage is great for a couple or single person seeking a quiet getaway while enjoying all the benefits the area has to offer. It offers 330 square feet of space inside and has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. It also offers a fully equipped kitchen, private bath with walk-in shower, cable TV, wi-fi, an outdoor gas grill, picnic table, all linens, and more.

Our oceanfront ledges are the perfect place to relax and enjoy a picnic, a glass of wine, and/or your morning coffee. We’ve welcomed many people celebrating honeymoons and anniversaries and we’ve even hosted a few oceanside weddings.

Please enjoy, learn more and re-share below. Thank you!

This Harvard start up for tiny house living is a guest post by Pete Davis – share yours

I am Pete Davis, one of the co-founders of Getaway, the first and only tiny house startup to come out of Harvard University’s Innovation Lab.

We build tiny houses, place them on beautiful rural land and rent them by the night to city dwellers looking to escape the digital grind and test-drive tiny house living.

We just launched our first Getaway house in the Boston area. We call it The Ovida.

“Ovida was dear to us; the Grandmother of any kid’s dreams. She loved without limit and doled out snacks to help us sit still in church. It was by her side that we first learned to play solitaire and how to cross-stitch. She carried us to her own bed when we fell asleep on the couch, and she cooked up the meanest lefse in the Midwest. Ovida’s house was our Getaway growing up, just as we hope The Ovida can be your Getaway now.” – Getaway

Here’s a 300 sq. ft. Amish built rustic cabin from the 1860’s. It was originally built in Sandusky, OH and was transported to the Asheville, NC area in 2002. It’s about 17′ x 15′ with a covered front porch that has great nature and mountain views.

Inside this rustic cabin you’ll find a small living area just under the sleeping loft. And near the ladder that goes up to the loft is a wood burning stove to keep the cabin warm during winter.

In the sleeping loft there is a cozy queen sized bed. Back down in the living area there is a cozy day bed for relaxing or afternoon naps. The small kitchenette has essentials for simple cooking and a mini refrigerator. Go outside and take a few steps away from the cabin to find the outdoor shower and the outhouse. You have to truly see the cabin (below) to appreciate it. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you!

Nestled 30 feet up in a lush eucalyptus tree is this whimsical treehouse cabin. Located on the property of Swallowtail Studios in Petaluma, CA.

As you climb three flights of stairs up to the treehouse cabin you start to become one with nature. Once you reach the deck you can take in the amazing scenery of the Arabian horse farm, the forest, and the rolling hills. French doors open up to a magical bedroom studio with a cozy bed to rejuvenate in. I love the stained glass windows and all the artistic decor. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you!
