This cozy and colourful school bus conversion was built by Aaron and Lena from Roadside Tales. They wanted a home on wheels that would allow them to explore and adventure with all the comforts of home wherever they parked it.
They Built a Beautiful School Bus Tiny House for 15k

The skoolie is a full-length 1997 International school bus that now has a full kitchen, living room, dining room, wood stove, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed as well as a bathroom with a Porta Potti toilet. The only thing missing is a shower but they wanted to keep the build as simple as possible and so they shower at campgrounds and swim in lakes to stay clean.

The pair built this tiny home with mostly reclaimed materials, including leftovers from Lena’s parents home, secondhand items from the ReStore and Value Village, as well as wood scraps purchased from a pallet manufacturer.

This beautiful build cost only $15,000 CAD for the bus and the build combined, although Lena did mention that getting some mechanical work done to the bus before hitting the road was an additional expense.
