Why A-Frame Shapes Work for Small Structures
- Efficient Weather Shedding: Steep roof angles quickly shed rain and snow
- Structural Simplicity: The roof serves as both walls and ceiling, reducing framing complexity
- Visual Interest: Distinctive shapes stand out in garden or forest settings
- Material Efficiency: Less wall framing required compared to conventional designs
Lessons from Camping Cocoon Design
- A-Frame Principles Scale Down: The classic cabin shape works even at micro scale
- Built-In Seating Saves Space: Integrated benches eliminate need for separate furniture
- Minimal Windows Suffice: A door window and rear window provide adequate light for small interiors
- Multi-Purpose Structures Add Value: A camping shelter that doubles as a garden office justifies the investment
- Backyard Placement Expands Home: A separate structure creates private retreat space without adding to the main house

Too much wasted space for my tastes. The corner seats look uncomfortable if you lean back and the angled sides increase floor costs with little benefit.
