Sawyer was going for a run when he had a sudden heart attack. Thankfully, some firefighters found Sawyer and immediately got him the help he needed. That experience was the catalyst that sent him and Courtney on tiny living journey. They watched Craigslist for a while until an inexpensive, local box truck popped up.

They took their time sourcing free and inexpensive items for their build-out and the results are amazing! For just $14k, they have a fully-functional home including a wet bath and elevator bed that allows them to have a bedroom and living room all in one cozy spot. What do you think?

Stephanie went from #buslife dream to reality in just a year, meticulously planning out “Sarge,” her future full-time bus home. She chose a more masculine exterior in order to throw off any would-be thieves, but the inside is 100% her own simple style with bold accents like a black back wall and stunning wallpaper.

Since her son is still at home for a bit longer, she has only taken Sarge on weekend trips so far. As soon as her son moves out, she is ready to go see every state and meet all kinds of awesome people on the way. She included a shower and cassette toilet, a functional kitchen, and a full-size bed in her rig. What’s your favorite part?

Sam’s job requires her to be present while she’s on duty, so full-time van-life was out of the question for her. But, she hated the thought of not traveling and taking advantage of her younger years, so she had a weekender van converted out by a builder!

What’s super cool is she’s able to rent her van out (like an Airbnb) when she isn’t able to use it. What a fun idea for those of you in a similar position as Sam. Let us know what you think!

Rocio and Gabe were enjoying their lives in Puerto Rico before a hurricane forced them to move back stateside. They were struggling to pick just one city to make their new home, but #vanlife seemed like a great solution — they could experience a number of places before settling down.

While they are both somewhat handy, the couple decided to buy a professionally-converted ProMaster van instead of DIY-ing. I’ve seen a lot of great DIY vans, but the technology system alone in this one makes it ultra-awesome. Every light and system is controlled by an app! What do you think of their rig?

Sarah was familiar with #vanlife when she graduated from college and settled into her 9-5 job, but the work routine finally convinced her that an alternative life was the right choice. She expected to do the conversion by herself, but it turned out her mother was very excited about the adventure and jumped all-in with helping her.

Just the van conversion itself radically increased Sarah’s self-confidence, as she learned a whole set of new skills. Most people didn’t expect her to be the one DIY-ing it! She travels with her dog and sells tie-dye creations as an income stream. What do you think of the van?

The two things that were holding Michelle back from van life were her stuff and other people’s negative opinions. Once she got rid of those, she was able to jump into her van joyfully and after two years on the road her only regret is that she didn’t do it sooner!

She travels with her two dogs and made them a gate from paint sticks (love it)! She has a nice, deep sink, outdoor shower, indoor composting toilet, closet under her bench seat and a TV so she can play video games on rainy days. I love it and hope you will too!

Gypsy was working 60 hours a week, talking about her dreams of escaping it all, when a coworker told her to just “shut up and do it.” She was shocked, but inspired, and within three weeks had purchased a bus she converted into her first tiny home.

That said, the bus was cumbersome and she wanted an easier way to get places — so she bought a van instead and spent 3 months building it out. While she did have a shower at one point, she got rid of it because going to the gym to shower is easier and she appreciates the storage space. Check it out below!

Savannah dreamed of van life but was initially worried about what others would think. She eventually realized no one was living her life but her, and outfitted her own DIY van conversion she calls the “Babe Cave.”

The build features a full-sized bed, micro kitchen, and space for her cat and co-pilot, George. The exterior is intentionally stealthy, while huge drawers accessible from the back of the van in the garage space maximize storage.
