The solar powered pod called the Innovation Pod is a modular structure that can be configured to different shapes, sizes, and purposes: Like a tiny house, coach house, mobile office, art gallery, food truck, and more.
This pod prototype was built and designed by Ottawa’s prototypeD, and is currently operated by MadeMill as a mobile digital media lab.
It’s unique curved roof was built with corrugated metal and the pod is powered with 3kW of solar power feeding into an 11kWh battery bank.
This is an awesome Barn THOW with a Rooftop Deck built by Upper Valley Tiny Homes for a client.
Not only does the house feature space for a downstairs queen-sized bed surrounded by bay windows, it has two large lofts with 4 ft. of head clearance because of the barn-style roof. A simple ramp connects the loft to the rooftop deck where you can perch a couple chairs and enjoy some iced tea.

No, it’s not “tiny,” but Jacqueline’s Solar-Powered New Mexico Artist’s Studio, on 10 beautiful acres, looks like the spot to be!
The 800 sq. ft. home sits near the Chama River Valley and is completely off-grid. This might be the perfect spot to start your self-sufficient life. It’s currently for sale and you can get in touch with Jacqueline with more questions or an offer at [email protected].
This is Callie’s Coop, a solar-powered tiny house homeless shelter designed by a 5th grader — that cost a whole $10 to build.
Callie designed this micro pod for a school project, and I’ve never seen a 5th grader with so much poise describing her brilliant creation. It includes everything from a solar oven to a rainwater catchment system to a composting toilet. And by using reclaimed materials, she kept the cost down to a meager $10 bill. Now that’s impressive!
She’s just proof that you’re never too young to start changing the world. Go Callie! (And big thanks to RelaxShacks for this video).
