This little family of 3 was ready for a change in their life, and a skoolie has allowed them to enjoy a slower pace of existence. They didn’t get caught up with creating an “Instagram-perfect” space but instead chose a practical design without breaking the bank.
They went with a one-of-a-kind ceiling covered with fabric instead of wood or other material. It’s a really cool look!

Michael is a musician who wanted a quiet place he could go to and write music. Originally he thought he’d convert a tiny home in just 3 months, but his attention to detail (and there are so many thoughtful features in this build!) meant it took 2 years and 8 months to see the finished product.
The cozy cabin skoolie has a huge rooftop deck, a stone-facade fireplace, and a really cool desk space that hides a full keyboard and a TV/computer monitor where he can edit his work. He has under-bed storage, a great kitchen, and a wet bath. Enjoy the tour!

Megan and Landon work as wedding photographers and videographers while traveling in their self-converted skoolie with an 18-inch roof raise! It feels incredibly spacious inside, even while they share it with their 15-month-old toddler.
The toddler has a really cool set-up, with a pull-out closet filled with tiny clothes on tiny hangers, and a bed/crib set up to keep him cozy and safe. The front of the bus is perfect for hanging out with friends and welcoming guests. What is your favorite feature?

Nikki’s bus is proof that maximalists can live tiny! An artist and web designer, Nikki knew what she wanted in a home, and she made it happen. There’s a desk for her web design, a large counter-top studio for her art, and most incredibly, a full-sized soaking tub in the middle of the bus with a 200-gallon water tank and on-demand hot water tank.
She also snuck in a side-by-side fridge & freezer, a massive farmhouse sink, and a washer/dryer unit. On the back of the bus, she has a spacious deck that houses her generator and more exterior storage. What more could you want?

This couple jumped into skoolie life on a bit of a whim after “roughing it” in an Airbnb in the woods. Instead of DIY-ing the entire bus, they took on extra wedding videography gigs to pay professionals to do things like electrical work — which is pretty clever!
They chose to do a huge roof raise — a whole 25 inches — in order to give lots of extra headroom inside the bus. Additionally, they put in RV windows instead of bus windows, meaning they have a lot more privacy and retain more heat than a traditional skoolie. What do you think?

Brittany and Justin converted their skoolie thinking they’d travel the country and find a new state to call home — but after months on the road, they discovered their hearts were in Colorado after all. They went back and found an awesome mountain cabin, which they bought and are renovating in between travels in their bus.
Their bus conversion features a built-in couch, office area, L-shaped kitchen, bathroom, and back bedroom. They used beautiful white tiling and warm wood accents to give their space a cozy and clean vibe. Check it out below!

James and Doreen had a 4,000-square-foot home, but the upkeep was just becoming overwhelming. So they decided to get a skoolie! Now they can visit their 4 kids (who all live in different places) and spend their springtime boating in Louisiana.
Their bus is unlike any we’ve seen before, with a full-size commercial kitchen (including THREE sinks), a table near the front window, and stucco walls on the inside of the bus. They chose not to have a hallway, and instead have a spacious bathroom. What do you think?

This is the fourth and final installment of Samantha and Herb’s fantastic caravan and bus conversions! Their beloved skoolie named Mr. Pemberton. The bus is their current home on wheels which is parked in Australia while they finish a European tour. Once they get back home Down Under, they’ll finish a lap around the continent.
They had to completely gut and overhaul the bus to bring it to its current glory. The sage green and white interior is absolutely dreamy, and it includes all the comforts of home (even a bathroom!). Enjoy Samantha’s story in her own words below!
