So I ran into this simple looking murphy bed over at ivgstores.com.

Murphy beds are great for small spaces but I have yet to find one inside of a Tumbleweed style tiny house (on wheels).

Has anyone else seen one?

One reason could be that these beds are rather expensive and the fact that most people use a loft or a large futon.

This bed starts at about $950 and the price will raise depending on the size and options you choose.

That’s all for this week’s Tiny House Furniture Issue. See you tomorrow!

These house plans look perfect for a retirement cottage, a small family home, or a vacation property. At just 640 square feet, this is just above tiny yet still well within “small house” limits. The clever layout could easily sleep six people between the two twin bunk lofts and the two first-floor bedrooms.

One of the bedrooms is shown as an office but has the exact dimensions of the primary bedroom. There’s a single full bathroom and a second utility room the same size. Turn that into a powder room with a washer/dryer unit. The center of the home has an open-concept living/dining/kitchen space that looks out over a lovely porch. What do you think of this design?

The Ellie-Keya is a beautiful tiny house initially built by Teacup Tiny Homes in 2023. It’s on a lovely wooded lot that you may be able to rent if you want to keep the home on the property in Slocan, BC. The house has three bedrooms—two lofts perfect for kids, and one private bedroom on the first floor doubles as an office with a Murphy bed desk.

A lovely L-shaped kitchen sits in the middle of the home, alongside a fold-down table for eating and a cozy couch/reading nook. There’s a bathroom with a bay window and shower and a first-floor bedroom. It’s for sale for $179,500.

Here’s a unique tiny house built by Moovinn LTD in Turkey. The tiny house would be great for larger families or a host of friends because of the Murphy-style bunks that fold down for bedtime. There are a total of four bunks, and then an additional loft bedroom where you could put a queen bed or two more twin mattresses.

The rest of the tiny house includes a long galley kitchen and a generous 3/4 bathroom. There’s plenty of storage in the staircase to the loft and cool metalwork details throughout the tiny home. What do you think of the Murphy bunks?

While we have seen pull-out beds before, they are remarkably under-utilized in most tiny homes. It’s a great way to get a ground-floor sleeping space in shorter THOWs that usually rely on lofts.

This brand new build from an Atlanta tiny house builder is up for sale on Facebook, and it actually separates the kitchen and bathroom on opposite sides of the house which I know some people really like. Let us know what you think!

While you might imagine large loft bedrooms when you hear “park model,” there are options that keep everything on one level — like this “Caney Creek” model by Stone Canyon Homes.

It takes some of the space from the main living room to create a “bonus room,” which perfectly fits bunk beds for kids. Like most park models, this has around 399 square feet of living space indoors. I love the covered deck to give you more space to stretch out.

Just wait to meet one of the sweetest tiny house couples Tiny Home Tours has interviewed. Janae and Blaine designed and built their amazing THOW and have been living it since they got married back in 2019. It’s entirely off-grid, as well, and they have three adorable kittens.

But they don’t just live tiny — they design and build tiny homes as well with their business, “Cornerstone Tiny Homes” in Oklahoma. Once you see their THOW, you’ll want one designed by them for sure. This one has a elevator bed, tons of storage, a stacked washer and dryer, and more counter space than many apartments.

Enjoy the tour below!

While some tiny homes are getting bigger, I love seeing people reimagine truly itty bitty spaces. At just 18 ft. long, it’s amazing that this builder managed to fit not only a loft bedroom and pull-out sofa, but a triple bunk bed for kids! Wow.

Located near Nashville, Tennessee, this THOW is for sale for $49,200, and features a sleek modern interior with stained plywood walls and gorgeous grey tilework in the shower. The shining feature, though, is the large glass wall that let’s in oodles of natural light.

It has a particularly Nordic feel to it, especially with the clean exterior lines. You can contact the seller or make an offer here.
