Jennie is a remarkable woman who has lived a full life traveling the globe as a journalist. She had to pivot when the world shut down in 2020, and ended up living out of her car while planning her van conversion. Once she got her hands on the van, it only took her 15 days to complete the conversion, using metal IKEA cabinets and an IKEA couch for the main infrastructure.

The interior of the van is all Beatles-themed, with “Yellow Submarine” pillows, a Beatles quilt, and all kinds of fun knickknacks related to the band. She’s been able to visit all 50 states and all the national parks in the lower 48 states during her past couple years of travel. Enjoy her tour below!

This lovely treehouse is suspended between oak and hickory trees in a cozy spot behind the hosts’ home. It has a lovely little porch with a table and some chairs where you can sip on coffee and watch the birds.

Inside, there’s a queen bed on the first floor and a full-sized bed up in the loft for kids (or adults who want to climb the ladder). A compact kitchenette with a gravity-fed sink provides you with water and a toaster/mini fridge. The couch nook by the windows is the perfect spot to curl up with a book!

This Storybook A-Frame looks ready to welcome a whole family of bears, or maybe a couple of children lost in the woods, or a sweet girl wearing a red hood! The A-Frame sits in the woods of North Carolina and has been decorated in a trendy monochrome beige that feels cottage-y and clean.

The A-Frame has a first-floor queen bedroom as well as a loft bedroom. The loft is accessible via a sturdy staircase, so there’s no fear of midnight ladder climbing. You can make meals in the L-shaped kitchen before sitting down at the rustic table for a meal. What do you think?

Tiny homes are a great and fairly inexpensive way to enter the Airbnb market. With more and more towns accepting ADUs, it’s getting easier to put a tiny house in your backyard for your grown children, visiting relatives, or paid guests! That’s the case with The Arden, a Rewild Homes build designed as an Airbnb for a client.

The house has two loft bedrooms that can each fit a queen-sized bed. You access one with a removable ladder, and the other with a sturdy staircase. The kitchen has full-sized appliances, so guests can cook their own meals. And in the bathroom, you’ll find a lovely tiled shower stall, a huge vanity space, and a Separette toilet. What do you think?

Looking for an inexpensive tiny house with a spot to park it? This 16-foot THOW (which looks a *lot* like an Incred-i-Box by Incredible Tiny Homes, but I couldn’t find any definitive proof that that’s what it is) sits in a year-round RV park in North Carolina and you can take over the lease with the purchase of the tiny home.

The home features vinyl exterior siding and metal sheathing on the interior, which makes the walls magnetic (could be quite handy!). There’s a bathroom at one end of the tiny home, a little galley kitchen with butcher block countertops, and enough space in the living room for a convertible couch. It’s just $34K!

There are geodesic domes scattered across North America to stay in, but this one is particularly magical since it sits on the Nalu Retreat grounds in Nova Scotia, Canada. The private grounds are kept free from partying or loud carousing, designed to be a true respite from the busyness of what’s going on elsewhere.

The dome itself boasts 16-foot-high ceilings, a cozy electric fireplace, a 3/4 luxury bathroom, and amazing panoramic views of the Canadian forest outside. After crawling out of your cushy queen-sized bed, you can make a cup of coffee in the kitchenette and sit in patio chairs on your private deck overlooking the grounds. There’s a mini hot tub, a fire pit, and even a loft space for stargazing. What do you think?

Julie and Ryan wanted a place that felt like home, but they couldn’t find any affordable options in California — so they built a tiny home! They looked for floor plans that would give them a separate loft office for Julie, but ultimately decided to create their own design that carefully incorporated everything that was important to them and their dog Nuggs.

Their craftsman-style design incorporates a loft with space for a King-sized bed that you access with storage stairs and a long galley kitchen with full-sized appliances and lots of counter space. The back bathroom has a composting toilet system, a washer/dryer, and a walk-in tiled shower stall. Enjoy examining all the details below!

Tim wanted to keep living in Colorado, but needed a more affordable option. He decided to build himself a 32-foot-long gooseneck trailer — and did it in just three months! While he wouldn’t ever build a THOW with that kind of timeline again, he loved the process overall and would definitely build another home if he needed to in the future.

His house has all kinds of great features, like a lifted bathroom, so he can keep a water tank and heater under the floor. There’s a little drawer dishwasher under his fridge and a full oven to make cooking at home easy. He has a loveseat, a gooseneck bedroom with a skylight, and a wrap-around deck he’s in the process of completing.
