Curtis’ wife had an awesome idea: Take pallets and build a cabin playfort for their son. He made the idea come to life and the result is an awesome micro cottage made for almost no expense (his grandparents had the roofing material and siding).

Right now with the price of lumber skyrocketing, pallets are about the only wood you can still get for free or relatively cheap (for example, the Tractor Supply Company near me sells their pallets for $1 each).

Curtis’ craftsmanship proves that pallets can be used to create a super cool cabin! While this one is only for his son to play in, I could easily see someone transforming his design into an off-grid home. Thanks for sharing it with us, Curtis!

This couple with school-aged children is living in their second bus conversion after selling the first one and building out a Thomas Saf-T-Liner to better meet their needs. In fact, they even make money on the side helping others renovate their buses!

The bus features an L-shaped lounge area that doubles as the dining room, and a huge Navy blue and white kitchen. Mom and dad asked the kids what they really wanted in the bus, and they chose monkey bars! Each kid was also permitted to paint their bunk area however they liked.

In the back you’ll find the Master bedroom, complete with a vanity for mom. See the full bus tour, brought to us by Tiny Home Tours, below!

Eric and Ashley began their journey to minimalism slowly, reducing what they had and realizing how little they needed. Eventually that brought them to making the jump to full-time vanlife.

Ashley works as a travel nurse, so they go where she gets contracts, and stay for 8 to 13 weeks at a time in different locations around the country. Eric has a remote job, so he can go anywhere she does. They are enjoying spending time and money seeing things now instead of waiting for retirement — when they may not have the health they need to explore.

Here’s an awesome vacation property in Colorado Springs, just minutes from the “Garden of the Gods” and downtown. Dubbed the “Chicken Coop” because there used to be a coop on the property, this fully-renovated cabin looks nothing like a home for poultry!

Grand vaulted ceilings with skylights make the small space feel especially open. The bed is the main feature of the space, but a built-in corner dinette and a mini kitchen line the sidewall. There’s also a three-quarter bathroom with a tiled shower.

Looking for a tiny house that’s fireproof, termite-resistant, has no loft and doesn’t sit on wheels? This PreFabulous Home checks all those boxes!

This expandable tiny house is 350 square feet and can include two bedrooms. There are a number of layout options available, as well as exterior and interior finishes to make the home truly yours. The home can also be moved because it can be folded up and transported on a truck — meaning it’s location isn’t set in stone (pun intended).
