Pamela and her husband Ulrich have been living on a boat since the day before their wedding — 30-plus years ago. When expecting their first child, they debated buying a home on land but ultimately purchased a 100-year-old tugboat that they renovated into a floating home.
The tugboat had had a number of owners over the years who had used it for different things, but with Ulrich’s amazing metalwork skills and sculpture experience, they were able to re-design the boat to meet their family’s needs. Now that their daughters are grown, and it’s getting harder to do boat maintenance, the couple are considering life on land once again.

Adam’s father had always wanted to convert a school bus and homeschool Adam and a potential second child while traveling the country. Tragically, his life was cut short. But Adam — and his Winnebago named “Eve” — are making that dream a reality!
Originally, Adam thought he would only be on the road for a year, but once he was 9 months in, he wanted to find out how to do this indefinitely. He sold his house, his motorcycle, and the car he loved to pursue van life! Even though the Winnebago Revel was already converted, Adam has made several personalizations to the van which you’ll love to examine in the video tour.

The MoonLander Truck Camper by RADICA is an affordable and innovative truck shell built for camping that starts at just $5,500. It’s a hybrid between a traditional truck topper and a camper, giving truck owners an accessible entry point into overlanding and expedition life.
The unique design extends on both sides, allowing you to sleep sideways over the truck bed. This means approximately 80″ of sleeping length in a mid-size truck, and up to 87″ in a full-size truck.

Tucked into the ridgeline of Lookout Mountain in Wildwood, Georgia, this all-wood yurt cabin offers something rare in the tiny living world: a fully round floor plan that feels spacious despite its compact footprint. Built with a central tree trunk beam as its structural and aesthetic anchor, the cabin blends rustic craftsmanship with a shabby-chic aesthetic that makes every corner feel intentional.
What makes yurt-style cabins compelling for tiny living enthusiasts is how the circular design eliminates wasted corner space. Every square foot in a round structure is usable, and this particular build takes full advantage of that geometry with a layout that cleanly divides living, sleeping, cooking, and bathing into distinct zones without walls.

Natalie learned carpentry skills in a number of workshops but noticed that many of the women watched while the men “did the things.” She had a passion for permaculture and sustainable building and wanted to create a safe space where women could get hands-on building experience to create their own homes! So she started Wild Abundance.
Her own log tiny house (which has been added onto over the years and is now “small” rather than “tiny”) sits on the property where she does workshops, but there are also lots of educational videos on her website which you can learn from. In the video below, you can see her amazing hand-crafted home.

Trey and Addie were working as Crossfit instructors when they realized they were eager for “more” out of life. It didn’t take much convincing for them to start looking for a van to convert. Once they got the rig, they spent two years building it out, since they had no prior building experience (and very few tools).
The design inside is awesome, with a fixed bathroom space, a long-ways bed, and a separate dinette for meals and work. They have a functional kitchen space and the entire interior is clad with gorgeous cedar wood. What’s your favorite feature of this home?

Lance sold everything he owned on Facebook Marketplace when he decided he was tired of the 9 to 5 and ready for a new adventure! He built a DIY camper on the back of his truck and spent only $5k on the materials. He was careful to buy things second-hand and at the Dollar Tree in order to keep costs down.
You can see his whole conversion on Instagram, where he shared all the details. He has a fixed bed, a micro kitchen, and lots of beautiful artwork he did himself! He makes money helping others make their own rigs and teaching the occasional art class.
