Wow! In a word…STUNNING! Absolutely perfect for a vacation to recharge and bask in the wide open spaces and quiet! I think that if I were to build one for myself to live in…I mean, who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by such beauty all the time?…I would make only one change. Move that middle wall closer to the bed and then put a couch on the other side. I realize it would mean getting rid of the fireplace but I could live with that happily because for me personally, I’m not a huge fan of fireplaces anyway. But if you really wanted a fireplace, I think it would be easy to find another location. As a residence, I think most of us spend more time in the living area even though on vacation we might linger in bed. Vacation perfection and a nearly perfect residence. What a delightful cabin and an appreciated post! Thank you!
Well, thing to consider… The fireplace is the only heat source for the home, it isn’t there just for ambiance, and centrally placed is the ideal location to efficiently heat the entire space evenly. Add, a ranch can be partly to completely off-grid and that could make other heat sources less practical than the fireplace. Local situation will vary but unless in a warm climate the type of heat source can be very important and deal with more than just a preference. Many alternative heat sources can also require additional space be dedicated to that system, taking away from the total living space. Needing a mechanical room, for example, and extremely cold areas may make options like a Mini-Split unreliable for all year use by itself, which can mean needing multiple types of heat sources to make it work then…
While the patio serves as the living space and has it’s own heat source as well. Additionally, there’s comfortable chairs and lounge in the bedroom area, with the wall serving as a separation between the resting and eating areas… The TV is located in the bedroom area only as an additional distinction…
Consequently, a couch on the other side of the partial wall would eliminate the two comfortable chairs, which some people prefer to a couch, and leave the seating area facing the dining table and kitchen… For an idea of the trade offs for this change…
The cabin is beautiful! BUT! What has it got to do with Tiny Houses? Maybe you are sponsored by Airbnb? If so why not have a separate website for promos of such? I signed up for info & updates on Tiny Homes not necessarily homes of people who have nothing to do with those of us who are interested in living with out mainstream ideals!
Hi Jodie! This cabin is a “tiny home” and there are many brilliant tiny homes that are used as Airbnbs. We aren’t sponsored by Airbnb nor do we get paid to feature their stuff, but it gives our readers additional “tiny house” inspiration to see these awesome homes.
Hi THN, I am having trouble loading the pictures of this cabin. I know my signal is weak, but is there a way to insure even a weak signal gets to view this cute house? Thanks for your help.
