Jess is an actress, and Josh mixes audio for sets — the long hours and travel kept them apart, so during the same year they planned their wedding, the couple converted their 2019 Ford Transit. Now, they can pursue work side-by-side based near LA.
Their van has a fabulous functional kitchen with a pantry and pull-out trash can, a laundry chute to the “garage” so dirty clothes don’t pile up, and even a monitor and green screen for Jess’s acting auditions! What an incredible van and adorable couple.

Sweet set-up.
I would love to get back into vanlife more regularly, but for now I split my time between a tiny house on wheels (parked in a waterside resort) and an electric car converted for stealth camping (which is a bit tight for two, but doable – I’m not a fan of using public washrooms though, so I’d love to have my own toilet and shower again). My strong preference, if I was to jump back into vanlife would be to do so in an all-electric (or PHEV?) van. Alas these are still hard to come by in Canada, despite being widely available in Europe. The unlimited idle-free heat/aircon that electric vehicles (especially newer ones with heat pumps) have is a game-changer for all-weather comfort. I know that Winnebago and others have full-electric prototypes, but the prohibitive cost (over $200K) limits their affordability for most people (myself included). I’ve seen some van and box truck conversions using heat pumps recently, powered by solar, so I suppose that’s another option…
