Here’s another amazing couple traveling from Alaska to Argentina in their van! Their Panamerican travels are a way to spend more time together and less time traveling away from each other due to work commitments. They quit their jobs and bought a van that had already been built by another DIYer.

Their rig has a nice swivel chair and living room/dinette area, along with a fixed bed in the back of the van. There’s a little shower/toilet area in the middle of the van. They want to upgrade the lighting inside, but they’re already in Mexico and appreciating this journey.

While plenty of people travel in their vans, not too many have a specific multi-year route mapped out. But in the case of Jess & Roberto, they are going from Alaska to Argentina! They thought it would take them a couple of years, but as they get used to a slow travel pace, they realize it might take 3 or more.

Neither of them had any previous experience in trades or building anything. They worked desk jobs, but they figured out how to convert their van on their own, and now they support themselves with their YouTube channel. Unlike many rigs, their bed is in the front of the van — check it out!

Mariajose, Chase, & their baby daughter Isla all live in this awesome sprinter van. Before they had a baby, the couple had lived nomadically for four years — first in a skoolie and then in a van. Some people thought they’d settle down after having a child, but instead they’re working on renovating the van to meet the needs of their expanding family.

In the video below, you can see their van pre-renovation. The neatest feature in their rig is the Murphy Bed, which is still pretty rare in vans on the whole. But they also have a bathroom (which they actually use) with real tile and a self-cleaning door. Let us know what you think!

Amanda is a flight attendant who heard about van life years ago, but when she was looking for an apartment in the chaos of 2020, she decided she’d rather put the money into a van and enjoy the changing scenery. She bought her rig second-hand and hasn’t looked back!

She uses her van to commute to work and has been based around San Francisco for 8 months. When she’s not high in the skies, she loves being outdoors, enjoying all that nature has to offer. Enjoy the photo tour of her van along with our Q&A with Amanda below!

Miranda and Kyle had done the “mattress-in-the-back-of-the-car” camping for shorter trips plenty of times, but when they couldn’t travel in 2020, it made them pause and consider what they really wanted out of life. Eventually they decided to purchase a van and have it professionally converted, so they could hit the road sooner rather than later.

The “Astro Van” has a great layout, with a shower and Nature’s Head composting toilet in the front of the van, and a large dinette in the back that becomes their bed at night. They have a great rooftop deck with a fixed ladder, as well. Enjoy their tour!

These three friends all live tiny in Holland and travel together in their converted campervan, creating and selling their artwork.

They have an older-style van that required a lot of love to get it going, but now it’s a cozy and rustic little abode! We got the chance to interview Jolein about their tiny life, which you can read below the photo tour of their rig.

This is Sophie’s second interview with Tiny Home Tours. Two years ago she was a full-time consultant living full-time in her van. Since then, she’s traveled internationally, spent some time in Baja, quit her full-time job, and started homesteading on a friend’s hunting land in Kentucky. Oh, and she gutted and re-did her whole van!

The van now has super groovy cabinets covered in 70s-inspired wallpaper. She swapped her stationary bed for a U-shaped dinette that converts at night, and she replaced her giant upper cabinets with lots more with a smaller footprint. Now she can travel in her van part-time and then live in the tiny shed she’s converting the rest of the time.

Do you remember this family’s tiny house tour? We told you they also have a van and sailboat they travel in, and today you’ll be getting an insider look at their DIY van conversion (that was also totally debt-free!).

They did some super creative stuff with this conversion, including creating an elevator bed for the grown-ups that comes down at night and a living/eating/car-seat-holding area that turns into a giant kid bed. Let us know what your favorite part is below!
