“Kemner” is the latest build by Safe + Sonder vans, and was built as an example of their new Simply Sonder line of budget-friendly van builds, designed to make campervan life more accessible! This is the only layout available, but certain colors, finishes, and upgrades are available at the client’s discretion. You can purchase Kemner as-is, or contact Safe + Sonder for your own Simply Sonder van.

If you go to their website here, you can build a Simply Sonder van and see exactly how much each finish/upgrade will cost! I built one out for $38K just for fun, but you can play around with the settings and see what you create. What a great option for folks who aren’t ready for a DIY, but can’t afford the $100K builds.

Alex was the last person her friends and family thought would jump into nomadic life since she was never a very outdoorsy type. That said, when her mother passed away from cancer, she wanted to do something different and got a job opportunity with Tiny Home Tours that allowed her to live in one of their buses.

After living in that bus for a while, she had fallen in love with #buslife enough to get her own vehicle! So she purchased a professionally-built van. Her conversion includes a bathroom, a U-shaped dinette that converts into a bed, and a lovely little kitchen. Enjoy the tour below!

Eloise and her van are proof that you don’t need a high-end Sprinter van with a professional conversion to be happy and fulfilled in van life. In fact, she test-drove a brand-new Sprinter and says she’d still prefer her rig to one of them! She actually test-drove dozens of vans over the course of a few years, and every time the van life itch would start. However, she always found a reason to stick to normal life until she finally gave herself an ultimatum in 2018.

Either she was doing van life, or she was never allowed to think about it and research it again. Once she found the perfect van, she spent about 6 months renovating it, thinking she’d use it in its rustic state for a year and then get a new van or upgrade her set-up. Turns out, she doesn’t mind the simpler design with limited electricity and plumbing! And she’s kept the same van this whole time. See it below…

Brenda and her dog Ranger have been on the road for 2 years. While this is their second tour with Tiny Home Tours, a lot has changed in her van since she first jumped into nomadic life. One of the biggest changes was that her cab was broken into while she was asleep. After that, she added a bunch of safety features to her van to give her more peace of mind on the road.

She also swapped out a port-a-potty for more storage, added a ton of fake plants, and included a dedicated workspace that she confesses she rarely uses! Let us know your favorite part of her rig in the comments.

Sierra loved to travel and wanted a way to see the world with her dogs in tow. Vanlife was a great option, especially because her job went remote and allows her flexibility. She has a ProMaster which was professionally converted by Off-Grid Adventure Vans, and it’s truly a work of art.

Because she loves to cook, Sierra wanted an oven with three burners. She has a Nature’s Head hiding under the kitchen cabinet, which transforms into a vanity space when needed. The Murphy bed set-up does take away from some storage, but she loves it for the versatility in her living room/bedroom/office. What’s your favorite part?
