There is a new tiny house floor plans book now available by Michael Janzen with hundreds of new designs and I was just able to get my hands on one of the first digital copies of the book, and so far I’m really impressed! There are over 350 new floor plans all designs for tiny homes on wheels from 12-ft. to 36-ft. lengths.
To celebrate Michael’s new book, I’m giving away a signed copy of his other book from 2017, 101 Tiny House Designs. All you have to do to be eligible to win the book is 1) leave a comment at the bottom of this post stating what size tiny house you want or have (12-ft, 16-ft, 20-ft, 36-ft, etc.) and 2) re-share this post on your Twitter and/or Facebook or via email to a friend (just CC us [email protected] and tag us on social media @tinyhousetalk). From there, I’ll pick a random winner within 30 days and reach out to you on where to ship the signed book. 🙂
This is the Two Bedroom Cabana Tiny House by SledHaus.
It’s a 574-sq.-ft. design with two bedrooms on the main level. It lives very much like a regular house or apartment. It’s called the Sledhaus Cabana 2 Bed. Learn more about it below.
This 240 sq. ft. mountain hideout is a tiny house design guest post by Robert Olson
Building a secluded off grid cabin is a dream I share with many others. One of these days its gonna happen. Until that time comes, I enjoy sharing ideas.
Below is a 12 x 20 rough draft plan I put together. I call this plan the Mountain Hideout due to its intended remote location.
The tiny houses on wheels you’ll see here are designed and built by Seattle Tiny Homes.
The company has a qualified and experienced team focused on quality, customer satisfaction, and values. And custom designs are their expertise which means they can build any tiny house design you can think of! As long as it’s something that’s doable, of course.
So if you’re thinking about hiring a custom builder to build out your own tiny house design in the near future, I’d definitely add Seattle Tiny Homes to your list of builders to seriously consider.
For now, I’d like to share some of their tiny houses with you thanks to Sharon Read, founder of the company. Please enjoy and re-share below if you’d like to help spread the word. 🙂
Hi Alex and Tiny House Newsletter readers… Like you, I love tinkering around designing/building tiny houses especially as small as a house as possible but still have all the conveniences that you find in a ‘McMansion’.
I know the idea about tiny living is supposed to be living with less but if you can cram everything into a small- less than 300 sq. ft.- moveable home without making it claustrophobic…
Why not, right?
So here I’m showing you a 32′ long tiny house design I’ve recently finished working on. Let me know what ya think in the comments down below!
I’d also like to show you a 28′ design that’s obviously a bit shorter. It has less square footage but it could be used as a 3 bedroom young family tiny home or just a backyard guest building by utilizing two sleeping lofts. Check it out and let me know what you think below:
I’ve always wanted to draw out my own tiny house plans.
One of them has always been one for a person like me who works from home.
Whether you’re an author, writer, blogger, artist, cartoonist, musician, freelancer, or accountant…
Wouldn’t a backyard tiny house to work in be awesome? I think so.
The WorkHaus Tiny House
So I decided to create the WorkHaus Tiny House Design. It’s a simple 7’x11′ structure used to work in.
It can be built on a regular foundation as a shed in a backyard or it’s small enough to be built on a 10 ft. single axle utility trailer much like the XS House from Tumbleweed.

Every Thursday I’ll be featuring a random set of tiny house plans here on Tiny House Talk.
Today I’m introducing you to Tumbleweed’s Beavan Box Bungalow design.
Beavan Box Bungalow Tiny House Plans
The Beavan is one of Tumbleweed Houses latest designs in the Box Bungalow category.
As you may already know all of this company’s house plans are designed by Jay Shafer, who has been living happily in really small spaces since 1997.
That’s over ten years of extremely simple living. That’s why he’s #1 when it comes to designing micro sized spaces for humans.
Jay Shafer and Tumbleweed Tiny Houses
Jay is at the forefront of today’s tiny house movement not because he is the first person to live so simply but because he has successfully shared his amazing ideas with the world.
In his Small House Book, he shows you the current generous loopholes which allow you to bypass minimum size housing building code restrictions in most areas.
The Beavan Box Bungalow
Let’s take a close look at this beautiful design which was recently featured on HGTV’s Design Star.
It’s based on a 19′ by 8′ dimension making it a roomy tiny house.
I hope you enjoy and please let me know your favorite in the comments down below.
I know the loft view isn’t perfect–somehow I messed up with dimensions and missed the wood flooring–but I think you get the idea. I’ll get better I promise.
These floor plans give you a visual of what living in a tiny house would be like. It’s also good for organizing/planning furniture, kitchens, bathrooms and windows.
