When Cheryl retired after 30 years as a public school teacher, she was living in a 1,400-square-foot home. Having raised her son as a single mom, she was ready for something new. She knew the only way she could afford a tiny house would be to build it herself, so she found a workshop with Incredible Tiny Homes. The company built a shell to her specifications, then she and some friends stayed on site to finish the interior.
Although the house is only 140 square feet with a small storage loft, it has everything she needs. She even fit in her sewing machine, a sewing table, and all her supplies. After seven years of tiny living in two different communities, she’s now at The Bird’s Nest in Texas.

David Rule built the world’s smallest (functional) home for $1,470 — and you need to see it! Another YouTuber had previously built a 25-square-foot tiny house complete with a sink and kitchen space, but David wanted to go smaller — and he did it. He built an adorable tiny home that’s just 22 square feet (including the “chimney” toilet).
Believe it or not, this little space includes a kitchen, a sink, a shower, and a bed! You can watch him build the entire home in the video below, but the best part of it, by far, is the dinner party he hosts for three of his friends and a dog inside his micro home!

Manon spent 15 years moving from place to place, never staying anywhere for long. Eventually, that nomadic lifestyle led her to van life, where she lived full-time for two years. While she loved the freedom, colder winters pushed her to look for something a bit more comfortable—without giving up her independence.
Using her cabinet-making skills, Manon designed and built her own tiny house on wheels with bold rooflines and plenty of space for what matters most to her—books and her cats. Today, she lives on a rural plot in the French countryside alongside other tiny house dwellers, enjoying a slower, more grounded way of life she built with her own hands.

You’ll want to bookmark this one for later. In this post, we’re sharing two in-depth videos from Drew of Drew Builds Stuff, documenting his DIY tiny house build from a bare trailer to a fully enclosed shell.
The build isn’t finished just yet—Drew still has the bathroom and kitchen to complete at the end of Part Two—but the videos are calm, detailed, and genuinely inspiring. He walks through each step of the process in a way that’s easy to follow and satisfying to watch.
In the first video, Drew completes the entire exterior build, including framing, roofing, window installation, and more. Part Two shifts inside, where he focuses on insulation, finishes, and interior progress (excluding the kitchen and bathroom). We’ll update this post as new parts are released, but for now, it’s a great look at what it really takes to build your own tiny house on wheels.
Update: We’ve added the remaining videos, including the bathroom, bedroom, and final finishing stages of the build.
