Anthony and his wife had the great idea to build four fun treehouses in a little town in South Carolina. It took them a long time to find a contractor willing to make their dreams a reality, but now they manage a great “Treeresort”!
Each treehouse is around 400 square feet and has one bedroom on the ground floor and another in the full-standing-height loft. With some clever plumbing, each treehouse boasts a full bathroom and a kitchen with residential appliances. Could you live here?

Most tiny houses ask you to sleep in a loft. At 380 square feet this one has a genuine bedroom — a room with a door — alongside a full bathroom, a kitchen, and a sitting area, all under vaulted ceilings.
The finishes lean traditional: whitewashed pine walls and laminate hardwood floors through the living space. Vaulted ceilings are what keep a home this size feeling open rather than boxy, and they pair naturally with pale walls.
Editor’s note: this custom-built home was listed in 2021 and has sold. Current listings are linked below.

The floor plan is simple and practical with everything you need available on the first level. I love this design because it includes a bedroom with closet space as well as bunk beds in the hallway. This is the story of Spencer, the tiny house builder who founded Rough Cut Tiny Homes out of Conway, South Carolina. It all started when he was 15 and saw a picture of a tiny house on wheels. That was the moment where he knew it was something he wanted to do.
So he started building his first tiny house at age 16. He was fascinated by it and loved the construction process. So he took the money he earned as a part-time bus boy to build a beautiful 28ft tiny home. Today, more than 8 years after it all started, he is 23-years-old and runs a business building tiny homes for others. So far, he has built 9 tiny houses with 2 more that are in construction. Below you’ll find a recent THOW he built that was shipped out to California.
