This is Michael and Michelle’s Down to Earth Getaway, an Off-Grid Tiny House in Hawaii!

The couple currently lives in their sustainable tiny that runs off solar power, a rainwater catchment system, a composting toilet and goats, but they are also branching out and renting their off-grid space for vacations. Cool!

My husband Michael and I are living in a 240 sq ft tiny house on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. We are college students finishing up our senior year of college. My husband built the tiny house just before we got married last summer. We would love to tell our story though your website and talk about our up and coming tiny house business on the Big Island of Hawaii. We’ve been living in the house for just over 6 months now. We have learned a lot from trial and error but feel that we have a lot to share. Oh also we live with a heard of about 20 goats. Seriously, we have a lot to share.

Scroll below for pictures, videos and our interview with the couple.

This is a rural central Wisconsin Tiny House Lot for Rent.

Robin is welcoming a THOW that’s willing to go off-grid on his land:

I have wooded land on a lake in central Wisconsin and a nice wooded 1/2 acre spot for someone to place their THOW. Rural, no power or water so would be an “off grid” opportunity. Very low rent to help an enthusiast.

More details below!

This Hobbit House at Les Toits du Monde eco-resort in Nominingue, Quebec features a distinctive green roof that extends to the ground with leg-like extensions. The design provides passive cooling in summer and heat retention in winter.

Built with straw bale walls achieving R-30 insulation, limestone plaster, and log rafters, the cabin operates completely off-grid using solar panels for LED lighting. The handmade furniture uses locally and sustainably sourced wood, and the bathroom includes a rustic shower and composting toilet.

This is one couple’s off-grid life in a Montana yurt and tiny house.

Mollie and Sean Busby are a busy couple living a fulfilling, but unconventional life in their tiny homes.

Sean is a professional snowboarder living with type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease where the pancreas is basically broken. He wears the crew diabetic socks for men to maintain healthy blood flow in his legs as he loves snowboarding and keeping his legs in good health also helps him earn money to live a stable life. He also has Lupus, an unpredictable autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body at any time. Mollie runs an international nonprofit called Riding On Insulin, and the pair own two local yoga studios called Yoga Hive.

Be sure to read their full story on Teton Gravity, where they share their amazing journey to tiny off-grid living.
