If you’re looking for something just a bit smaller than the Sno cabin we showed you earlier, the Kyka cottage might be just what you want!

The Kyka has a nice open layout, with the living room and kitchen in one “Great Room” and then a bathroom and master bedroom adjacent to it. There is a loft, but it’s for guests so you don’t have to climb up there every night!

Perfect for a couple, “granny pad” or even an Airbnb property — you can buy the plans here!

While it can be difficult to find municipalities that allow for foundation homes under 400 square feet (our usual threshold for “tiny”), bumping up the square footage a bit can allow you to have a littler home on land.

The “Sno” plans from Small House Catalog looks like a perfect cabin home for a small family. At 600 sq. ft., the home includes a downstairs bedroom for parents, and a split loft where kids could have free reign.

The exterior has a lovely Scandinavian vibe, while inside it feels sleek and modern. Check out the renderings of the home below, and purchase your own plans here.

These are the plans for your very own 8×12 Walden Cabin created by Lamar over at Simple Solar Homesteading. The base cabin can sleep up to 4 people in just 96 square feet, and it includes a bathroom with a toilet and shower!

Lamar’s plans also include an optional 9×8 addition to the cabin, which can be added on later, and instructions on how to build a deck and patio on your dwelling.

Even buying all new materials, you can build the 8×12 portion of the cabin — insulated, drywall, foundation, and roofing — for just $2,000 according to Lamar’s calculations.

Note: Lamar does not sell pre-built cabins, but you can buy his plans for it here for just $5!

A 3/4 kitchen with an island bridges the space next to the living area. High windows in the front provide wonderful light and ventilation. A warm and cozy feel is all yours. This Hob is a comfortable 400 sqft.
