The Springbrook 7.2 proves that great design isn’t about size — it’s about intention. A compact custom build from the Gold Coast, Australia–based Removed Tiny Homes, this 7.2-meter (about 23’7″) home reimagines how vertical space can be used, with a unique corner stairway that works as both a striking visual feature and a clever way up to the loft. Tucked underneath it sits a cosy, grounded dining nook, and every inch of the layout was considered to maximize flow, function, and comfort — without losing the warm, characterful design language Removed is known for. Smart, compact, and full of personality, the Springbrook is a perfect example of what’s possible when you break the mould.

Designed Around Intention, Not Square Footage
Where Removed’s standard models — the Byron Bay, Cabarita, Tallebudgera, and Currumbin — work from set floor plans, the Springbrook is a one-off that rethinks a small footprint from scratch. The palette is warm and characterful: sage-green cabinetry with brushed-copper handles, white stone benchtops, a timber-plank ceiling, and rich timber floors. A galley kitchen runs along one wall with a gas cooktop, an under-bench oven, and picture windows that frame the bush, while the whole layout is organised around making a compact home flow like a much larger one.

A Corner Stairway and a Tucked-Away Dining Nook
The Springbrook’s signature is its corner stairway. Rather than eating into the floor with a conventional staircase, Removed wrapped it into the corner as a sculptural feature that still does its job — carrying you up to the loft. Tucked beneath it is a built-in dining nook with bench seating and a timber table, a grounded little spot to eat, work, or relax, lit by its own window. Removed even worked a built-in desk into the design that doubles as the loft’s balustrade — the kind of double-duty detail that makes a compact home feel considered rather than cramped.

A Bathroom Full of Character
The bathroom carries the same warm, tactile palette. A timber vanity holds a stone vessel basin under a round timber-framed mirror, with a brushed-brass wall tap, glossy grey tile, open timber shelving, and a soft wall sconce keeping it boutique rather than utilitarian. It’s a small room that feels designed, not squeezed in — and it opens straight back toward the kitchen and the light-filled window seat at the end of the home.

A Shower Under the Sky
The shower is a quiet showstopper. Lined in dark, moody stone-look tile, it’s topped by a skylight that drops daylight straight down over a matte-black rainfall head — so even tucked inside a 7.2-meter home, you can shower under the open sky and the canopy above. It’s a small, atmospheric touch that sums up the Springbrook’s whole approach: clever, characterful, and designed for how it actually feels to live there.
