This is to show you some really-cool graffiti art done by Justin Lopez behind a clawfoot tub, inside of a newly-built Texas shotgun cottage by Plum Construction.

It’s one of the many small cottages with tiny house style designed and built by Christine and her crew, by Plum Construction, out of Galveston, Texas. What do you think? Pretty cool, right?

This is the final complete build by Christine of Plum Construction, although she’s working on another project! LaLa’s Seaesta is a gorgeous black little house in Galveston, Texas just a couple blocks from the beach.

While the main living area of this house is awesome — with a full kitchen and bath, downstairs Master and upstairs loft bedroom — it’s the hidden under-the-house patio that really makes it special. You’ll find a hanging swing bed, a bar with swing seats, a projector screen, hammock and outdoor shower! Truly a special place to hang out.

Plus back upstairs in the little house, you’ll discover that the breakfast nook transforms into a full-sized bed with lovely window views by just sliding the ottoman over. How neat! Book your stay on Airbnb here, or contact the builder here.

Many people are skeptical of how long people really live tiny before throwing in the towel on cramped quarters. But the Reed Family’s story shows that sometimes tiny living can be a useful stepping stone to dreams come true.

The family were struggling financially trying to serve at a church in the LA area (Dad/Husband Nick is a pastor), and finally decided to fix up an RV, move 35 miles away from the church (long commute!) and live tiny to remove the financial burden of rising rents. During their RV life, they were able to save up enough money for a 1100 square foot fixer-upper just 10 minutes away from their church! They sold the RV and used that money as part of their down payment on the home.

The family of 6 (@reedsindeed) feels like their little home is a mansion in comparison! The four girls share one of the home’s two bedrooms with amazing built-in quad bunks, and the home features the coolest glass dining area. We got to interview mom, Rachel, so be sure to read her story at the end of the post!

Here’s another tiny house from Tiny Homes Ireland. This one has just one bedroom, but it’s on the ground floor making it perfect for retirement.

The home is on skids, allowing for a wider design. Inside you’ll find an open-concept living room and kitchen, and then a bathroom and bedroom on either end of the house.

According to their website, their designs cost between €35,000 – €70,000 (~$41,000 – $83,000). Enjoy the photo tour below!

Today I wanted to introduce you to Tiny Homes Ireland, a tiny house builder in — you guessed it — Ireland. They have a couple of standard models at this time but also create custom builds upon request.

This particular home below is a tiny house on skids with a downstairs bedroom and two more loft bedrooms, including one that’s completely closed off — sneaky! You’ll find a dinette under the bathroom loft adjacent to the galley kitchen.

According to their website, their designs cost between €35,000 – €70,000 (~$41,000 – $83,000). Enjoy the photo tour below!

Christine Plum (@plum_construction) sold her Houston home and put all her equity into buying a small home in Galveston, Texas and fixing it up. She did all the work herself, and turned it into a vacation rental she later sold.

But after remodeling, she got into designing and building homes from the ground up! She’s now on her fourth tiny house project after completing and selling three beautiful homes under 1,000 square feet.

This home was the first one she built, doing all the interior work herself. It’s called the “Tiny Gem” and is an Airbnb rental now. At 400 square feet, it includes a downstairs bedroom as well as a loft bedroom for kids.

This is a fully-renovated fifth-wheel RV for sale in Sugar Hill, Georgia for sale for $26,000 (sold). While the owners bought it and overhauled it with the intention of living in it full-time, they had trouble finding an affordable full-time parking opportunity (one of the toughest parts of tiny living!) and are now selling.

That said, it would make an awesome tiny house for a couple or small family, especially for one interested in full-time travel. RVs are built to be frequently towed around and are usually lighter than their tiny house counterparts.

The inside got a major facelift, with all the dark trim painted, extra cabinets removed to create visual space, and new furniture added to make it feel like home. Take a look at the photo tour below.

Meet Trysh and Saul Martinez and their self-built $25,000 THOW. If you just showed me pictures of the home and had me guess how much it cost, I would have easily said somewhere between $70k-$90k. Somehow using mostly reclaimed materials and Craigslist finds, the couple managed to build a tremendous tiny house without taking on debt to get it.

A few super cool features include the 7-foot-long drawers they tucked under the kitchen for clothing and shoe storage, and a closet loft entirely dedicated to hanging clothing. Those two features allowed them to have very little wall storage, leaving the place feeling beautiful and open.

They work as rehabilitation therapists in San Diego (@tryshka on Instagram), and despite a difficult search, found a place to park their home in the metropolis via Craigslist. We got to do a Q&A with the couple, which you can read at the end of the post, and we also included a link to their video tour with Living Big in a Tiny House.
