Vandila was ready to make the “next step” and get out of apartment living, but the housing market in Austin was crazy and she hated the thought of jumping into so much debt and not getting a great deal. Plus, she didn’t think she needed all the space a full home would offer.

That’s when she considered a skoolie, but her job kept her tied to one location. Eventually, she settled on a park model in a tiny house community in Austin. She has a ground-floor bedroom, roomy shower, and awesome built-in entertainment system for her TV & games. Check it out!

The Estate is just one of many tiny house models on the market today that address people’s desire for a ground-floor bedroom. And this one does more than that! It also includes two lofts connected by a catwalk.

There’s a galley kitchen, a bathroom with space for a roomy shower, and an entryway/living room where you can tuck in a comfortable couch. This design/build is by Uncharted Tiny Homes and costs $85,000.

Sure older buses can have plenty of mechanical downsides, but you might also get a musical horn that plays 99 different tunes! Hannah and Cody got that lovely surprise when they started renovating their bus pre-pandemic. Unfortunately, they got scammed by some bus-builders who never built out their bus, so they had to go the DIY route instead.

Because they both have remote jobs, the transition to bus life was a fairly easy one. I love the layout of this bus, which includes a side door instead of the typical passenger-side front door. This totally changes up the feeling inside the bus. Enjoy the tour!

About four years ago, Stephi set out living in her car post graduation from art school. After crashing it, she lived in two other vehicles before buying her Promaster. While most of us try not to think about when we might die, Stephi’s cystic fibrosis diagnosis meant that she wasn’t supposed to live through her twenties.

But when a new drug came out that has extended her life expectancy to “normal,” she decided to upgrade to the Promaster and build it out with the help of her dad. She’s now soul-searching and figuring out what she wants to do with the many years ahead she may have!

Climb the spiral staircase up to the main floor, where the bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette meet you. Up some more stairs you’ll find another story with a smaller bed, deck and lovely woodland views. Would you stay here?

Kayla has always tried to live in small spaces — purposefully choosing the smallest room in her co-op and figuring out how to live with less. When she got a remote internship for the summer, she decided to hop into vanlife and travelling!

For such a tiny, quickly-built rig, Kayla’s van is so impressive! It has a bed/couch/dinette with three configurations, and a kitchen that she can use indoors and out — pretty cool.

This is Indigo River Tiny Home’s fanciest model yet — a 39-foot gooseneck THOW complete with two storage lofts, a living room gooseneck, and a ground-floor bedroom with built-in wardrobes. The owners added tons of upgrades to make this a truly luxurious tiny home.

Especially in tiny homes, the kitchens and living rooms tend to be one large space. What do you think of separating them?
