Emily and Josh were both working jobs that kept them apart, and then driving to see each other on the weekends. They’d save up PTO to travel for a few weeks during the “off-season” and wish they could do it full-time. When 2020 changed their career trajectories, they were finally able to consider living nomadically full-time!

We’re excited to introduce you to a new-to-us van-building company called Safe + Sonder Vans. This is their latest conversion which is for sale, called the “North.” Besides the incredible craftsmanship, what makes this van so unique is that it’s a true family vehicle! It features two swivel seats for adults and a bench seat with seatbelts for three more people.
In order to sleep everyone, there’s a fixed queen bed in the back of the van and then bunk beds across from the kitchen for up to two more people. A separate Luno bed provides sleeping for the fifth passenger on top of the bench seats. There’s upper cabinet storage all around the van in order to fit clothing and other necessary supplies for multiple people. What do you think of this design?

Elen was struggling with too much space and a not-so-great landlord in her Glasgow apartment. So when she went on a 2-week European tour in her van and saw how amazing nomadic life could be, she finally took the plunge into full-time van life!

Just wait until you watch the video tour of this absolutely incredible DIY family tiny house. Ingeniously designed by the owners on Sketch-Up (and largely built by them, with the help of some specialists), this house features double lofts, a cozy living, a luxury bathroom, and more counter space than I’ve ever seen in a tiny home!
The home itself is 36×8, but the added covered porch (which is gated, so the toddlers can run outside alone) doubles the living area. They have solar panels all over the roof that provide oodles of power, and a rainwater catchment system for running water. The toddlers have a safe loft area where they can run, play, and sleep, and the parents have a minimalist loft of their own. There are so many more features you’ll watch to check out below!

After Brianna and Tyler went on a travel trailer vacation with their two kids, Tyler jokingly said, “I wish we could do this all the time.” Back then, he was working 12-hour days at the office and Brianna was struggling to manage her job, her kids, and taking care of a 2,600-square-foot home.

While Gordo’s epic skoolie conversion might look ready to take on the zombie apocalypse, he has no intentions of using it to survive the end of days. Instead, he built the adventure rig as a passion project, and uses it to travel on vacations or transport the many tools that he has stored on the back deck.
The first thing he did with the school bus he bought at auction was to slice off the back half and build an intricate metal deck/roof rack. That only took about a month, but the interior finishes took about 2 years to complete. You’re going to love the video tour below, where he shows off all the incredible details of his space.

This is a beautiful gooseneck tiny home built in 2018, looking for a new owner. It comes complete with a solar system and all the appliances you could want, including a washer/dryer unit beautifully hidden in a cabinet. A private gooseneck bedroom has a door, so it can be completely closed off from the rest of the home.
There’s also a loft bedroom that fits a queen bed if you need to sleep more people. Under that loft, you’ll find the living room with built-in shelving. A galley kitchen has a full-sized fridge, a smaller oven, and a microwave. It’s available in San Juan, California for $135K.
