Tammy and Donny separately came across videos of people living in their RVs and decided they wanted to try RV travel for themselves. Originally they purchased an RV just for vacations, but after 2020 hit, Donny retired, and they decided to sell their home and move into the RV full-time!
They actually live in the RV during the school year since Tammy still teaches, and then they travel during the summers. Their life feels “uncluttered” now that they’ve downsized and sold most of their worldly goods. Enjoy reading our interview with Tammy below!

Here’s a lovely little cabin in the Vermont woods — on 100 acres — that comes with a vintage 70s truck camper you can sleep in and a brand-new sauna for your enjoyment! While a park model’s extra-wide size definitely makes it tricker to move, there’s nothing quite like a 12-foot-wide tiny house in terms of roominess. When her job went remote in 2020, Annette found herself feeling lonely working from home and wanted to change things up. She was also hoping that a van to vacation in would bring her closer to her then-partner. But when that relationship ended, Annette was faced with a choice: Sell the van or do it solo. She decided to rise above the pain and enjoy her hard work!
Now that she’s tasted nomadic life, she has no intentions of going back to “normal.” She’s found an incredible community to support her as she learns the ropes of solo van life. Her van has a great U-shaped dinette and a hidden toilet! What do you think?

Hillary and Kris found their way into nomadic life somewhat slowly. It started with a shipping container conversion passion project and ended a few years later with selling their home and purchasing a Class A RV. To date, they’ve traveled to 38 states and have no intentions of going back to sticks-and-bricks anytime soon.

Tommy and Ashley met in Hawaii and after doing some assorted mission work, they met another couple who lived in a van, and they were inspired to try out nomadic life for themselves. Highly averse to debt, they decided to take a loan out on a 0% interest credit card and complete the build for the $15K they were approved for, promising to pay it back before the interest kicked in.
Amazingly, they did just that and were able to sell their first van, pay off the credit card and then use the funds to convert a second van (seen below). This van was designed with their toddler son in mind, and they were able to include a little play cubby for him, along with a bench seat that gives them an extra safe spot to put his car seat. Alex was the last person her friends and family thought would jump into nomadic life since she was never a very outdoorsy type. That said, when her mother passed away from cancer, she wanted to do something different and got a job opportunity with Tiny Home Tours that allowed her to live in one of their buses.
After living in that bus for a while, she had fallen in love with #buslife enough to get her own vehicle! So she purchased a professionally-built van. Her conversion includes a bathroom, a U-shaped dinette that converts into a bed, and a lovely little kitchen. Enjoy the tour below!

Alex and Crystal purchased their ambulance back in 2019 and used it as a vacation/emergency vehicle for about three years. At the time, they used the ambulance pretty much “as-is” with some minor adjustments, but once they decided to sell their home and pursue full-time nomadic life, they totally transformed the rig!
The most expensive upgrade was the vehicle lift and 4×4 conversion, but that allows them to go just about anywhere! The inside has all the amenities you could want, including a bathroom, an oven, and a special espresso machine drawer. There’s even a laundry chute! What’s your favorite feature of this rig?

Here’s the latest Sebago model built by Tiny Homes of Maine for a client who chose a beautiful navy blue board and batten exterior and a happy yellow door. The 38′ tiny house is incredible, featuring both double lofts and a private first floor bedroom!
