Tiny homes with first-floor bedrooms are becoming more and more popular — and for good reason! People were tired of climbing into lofts to go to sleep, and the builders are now really listening to the consumer. This is the first tiny house from New York-based Pine Crest Tiny Homes that we’re showing you, but I’m sure it won’t be the last.
One thing that makes this design work is the Murphy bed in the main bedroom. This bed folds up “longways” which means it feels like a daybed/couch when folded out and makes the space function like a proper living room. There are also two extra lofts for additional sleeping space or storage. Get it today for $106,500!

Neil and his family wanted a vacation home where they could get out of the city and enj0y the nature in Joshua Tree. Why container homes? Because it was cool and different! What they thought would take a year or two and $150,000 ended up taking three full years and over $650K to complete. But now that it’s done, it’s available on Airbnb for the whole world to enjoy.
The house has one main container where there’s a kitchen and living room. Two bedrooms and a bathroom sit in one of the other two containers, and the primary bedroom and luxury bathroom take up the other one. In the middle of everything, there’s a concrete patio with outdoor furniture and a giant Adirondack chair. There’s even a container pool to cool off in! What do you think?

Amie and Tom took the whole idea of “use what you’ve got” and turned it into an art form. Tucked away in a quiet patch of Welsh forest, they built this off-grid tiny home almost entirely out of reclaimed and rescued materials — and it’s the same land where they run their forest school for kids. Solar power, rainwater catchment, composting toilet… they really went all-in on making a home that’s gentle on the land yet full of character, warmth, and a little bit of magic.
Let’s step inside and take a look around.

There’s something about a small cabin on the coast of Maine that just speaks to me. The Pine Cabin is a 420-square-foot retreat nestled on a former saltwater farm in Sedgwick, Maine, and it’s one of the most thoughtfully designed small cabins I’ve come across.
Architects Bill Bowick and David Bouffard discovered this waterfront property and knew it deserved something special. Working with builder Jon Ellsworth of Carding Brook Farm, they designed and constructed three boat-inspired cabins on the land. The Pine is the smallest of the three, and honestly, it might be my favorite. It’s a studio-style layout with everything you need and nothing you don’t.
What really sets this cabin apart is that it was built using pine milled right on the property. That kind of connection between the structure and the land it sits on is rare, and you can feel it the moment you step inside.

Here’s a cheerful and charming 16′ THOW that’s up for sale in Salida, Colorado for $39.5K. Despite the compact size, it feels particularly roomy inside because of the gorgeous decor and bright white walls.
If you’re loft-adverse, the sofa does fold out into a bed. That said, the storage stairs take you up to the main loft bedroom, which feels extra spacious due to all the windows. The galley kitchen has a surprising amount of counter space, and you’ll find a residential toilet and conventional shower stall in the bathroom. You can contact the seller on Facebook Marketplace.

Alexandria has been living on the road for a number of years and has tried out nearly all the nomadic vehicle options. First, it was a camper van conversion, then a skoolie, and now a truck camper! Despite the camper being known for its water-tightness, Alexandria found after purchasing it that it was largely rotted, and had to tear the entire thing down to the foam and rebuild it.
Thankfully, she had the help and support of her dad, who encouraged her to keep going even when it was discouraging. The result is an awesome rig that allows her to go just about anywhere she feels safe. What do you think of her work?
