Mountaintop Tiny House on Their Own Land!

This post contains affiliate links.

After living on a sailboat and in a studio apartment, respectively, Bryan and Chloe decided to purchase a used tiny house and put it on their own mountaintop property in Washington! In order to have some more storage, they also bought a smaller shipping container for their clothes, long-term storage, and tools.

They built a lovely outdoor kitchen and fire pit area outdoors so they can welcome friends and family in the warmer months. Inside, they have a galley kitchen with an air fryer and induction cooktop, a little bathroom with a redone shower stall, and a lovely loft bedroom. What do you think?

Highlights:

  • Bryan was living in a sailboat and Chloe in a studio apartment when they found this tiny house for sale and decided to purchase it.
  • They didn’t have land yet, but ended up scoring this gorgeous mountaintop property with septic already installed. They spent a decent amount on excavating, but in total only paid $214,000 on the home, container, land, and excavation. Home prices in their city are around $650K.
  • In order to have storage, they purchased a shipping container and insulated half of it to use it as a large closet. The other half holds long-term storage and tools.
  • The tiny house itself is a Linden model from Tumbleweed tiny homes that was built by students in a carpentry program. They purchased it used from the people who bought it from the students.
  • There’s about 144 square feet of living space on the first floor, and then a bedroom loft and a secondary loft for plants and their cat’s litterbox.
