Compact camper van designed for vanlife, perfect for small space living and outdoor adventures.

Michael got into vanlife before vanlife was cool! But his first conversion garnered so much popularity, he ended up with a van-building business that has set him up for success. He then built this amazing $250K van conversion that has all the bells and whistles and luxury finishes you could imagine in a van.

This video shows off that rig, which you can rent on RVShare if you want to try it out! RVShare allows folks interested in nomadic life to try out several rigs before settling on their own tiny house design. And if you like Michael’s work, you can always have him build you a custom van.

Ambulance turned tiny workshop with woodwork tools and cozy sleeping area.

Cole and Shae are an awesome couple who live full-time in their converted ambulance! Cole works as a woodworker, transforming reclaimed wood he finds or is gifted on the road, and turning it into stunning jewelry and cutting boards. Shae has a “normal” job in medical billing, and she can do it remotely.

They needed a rig that could support full-time remote work and a wood shop, and the ambulance was perfect! All the storage compartments allowed Cole to use an exterior one for all his tools and lumber, and a clever bed-plus-dinette set-up inside gives Shae a spot to work. Ambulance conversions are becoming one of my favorite tiny spaces! What do you think?

Compact tiny house on wheels with large windows and wooden exterior.

Ansel is a self-proclaimed “tiny house hacker,” and that’s because he’s figured out how to earn $6,000/month off of the three tiny homes in his backyard! Oh, and they’re all legal dwellings so he doesn’t have to worry about getting shut down.

He owns and lives on the small plot of land where his 800-square-foot home sits, and then he has two THOWs and a detached garage he turned into a luxury ADU. Ansel rents all three spaces on Airbnb and the income has completely changed his life (for the better). Enjoy the tour of all of them below.

Tiny house treehouse bedroom with large windows and cozy decor.

In Quebec, near the small town of Tingwick, you’ll find this incredible treehouse on 15 acres of woodland. The tree house is one of two vacation rentals on the property. The home of the host, and a large “spa” which is a central hang-out space with a kitchen, patio, and other little luxuries also share the acreage.

The treehouse itself has panoramic views of the forest and is a hotel room in the trees, with a large bed, couch, seating for two, and a wood stove for warmth. An outhouse stands at the bottom of the treehouse, and there’s a shared bathhouse near the spa. What do you think?

Modern blue tiny house with outdoor deck in South Africa.

Yulande is a tiny-house-dweller and the owner of a tiny house building company after years in the furniture design industry! She lives in South Africa in her company’s flagship model.

The home has a large wall of folding glass doors that open up to the front porch and let the inside and outside collide. Indoors, the home is studio-style with a picture window next to the ground-floor bed (with huge drawer storage underneath!). And just wait until you see the sleek, black shower stall in the bathroom. What do you think of this new design?

Modern camper van by Mad Campers parked on a scenic coastal area in New Zealand.

This is a fun tour of a Mad Campers van that you can rent to tour New Zealand! It has two slider doors to let in views and light, but only one acts as an entrance to the van. It has the kitchen set up, and across from it, you’ll find an L-shaped couch with a removable table where you can work or eat.

The back of the van is split between the fixed bed (it’s about a full size) and a long and thin bathroom with a toilet and a shower stall. The van is self-contained, which allows you access to certain parking spaces around New Zealand. Take a tour (and plan your bucketlist trip!) below.

Cozy tiny house interior with vibrant quilt and decorative pillows.

Jennie is a remarkable woman who has lived a full life traveling the globe as a journalist. She had to pivot when the world shut down in 2020, and ended up living out of her car while planning her van conversion. Once she got her hands on the van, it only took her 15 days to complete the conversion, using metal IKEA cabinets and an IKEA couch for the main infrastructure.

The interior of the van is all Beatles-themed, with “Yellow Submarine” pillows, a Beatles quilt, and all kinds of fun knickknacks related to the band. She’s been able to visit all 50 states and all the national parks in the lower 48 states during her past couple years of travel. Enjoy her tour below!
