This is a wonderful sea ranch home in California built on poles.

Outside, you’ll notice this house sits on a hill – or rather, above it – on seventeen massive poles. Vertical gray wooden siding envelopes the home’s angular structure, which includes multiple juxtaposed roof levels. You can take in the surrounding tall trees pointing to lovely clear skies while reclining in Adirondack chairs on the back porch.

When you go inside, you’ll find an open floor plan, complete with two bedrooms and one bath. For the self-sufficient types, the house includes a rustic wood-burning stove, but also the luxury of a flat screen T.V. Bright colors and eye-catching paintings, stained glasswork and other art pieces give the house an eclectic flair. Best of all, you can rent it out for a week or a weekend and enjoy the Sea Ranch life.

This is a one-of-a-kind off-grid tiny house by Elevate Structure.

From the outside you’ll notice is resembles a treehouse, doesn’t it? Even more interesting, it’s literally a living house because of the live plant siding.

The base is just 40 sq. ft. which minimizes the impact this micro home has on the earth is sits on. This area can be used for rainwater storage or even as a drive through in a commercial setting. Pretty interesting, right?

The upper level is highly customizable and can range anywhere between 256 sq. ft. and 800 sq. ft. depending on what you need. Currently the company offers six different designs.

Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

If you’re into tiny living but know that you absolutely do need more space than I think might like this Lanefab 1020 sq. ft. small house with garage in Vancouver called the Newport Lane House. It’s built on a 50′ lot and the design offers one bedroom, one bathroom, and a garage for your car and/or hobbies. Pretty cool, right?

One of my favorite parts is not only that it has a garage because I’d like to take care of my car and store some of my stuff there but I also love the second level balcony to spend time outside on. And not to mention, how the kitchen area opens up to the outside. Super awesome!

This is a modern prefab tiny home that can grow in design according to your needs.

The basic home (called the 2 PLUS Classic) is a one-bedroom, 465 square foot model, available in a choice of 2 floor plans and a number of options and finishes.

It’s great as a vacation getaway for a single person or couple. But if you wanted to it can even be your primary residence, if you enjoy the tiny house lifestyle!

There are many nooks and crannies allowing for built-in storage and more spaciousness. A feature that I find unique is that the deck can be closed to provide a secure closure for the patio doors, during times when the home is unoccupied.

This cute and cozy tiny house was designed by architect Marek Štěpán and built by Freedomky in the Czech Republic.  You may choose other styles and sizes, using the same basic design. See their website for more information on these options.

The Halo Home located in Göteborg, Sweden was built by a team of students for entry in the Solar Decathlon China. Halo is named after the shining circle around the sun. This little home is completely sustainable and powered by the sun. Pretty cool, right?

The core is the heart of the home and contains the kitchen, bathroom and technical room, which features a compact air handling unit with up to 95% heat recovery. The small home also comes equipped with four sleeping platforms and a semi-enclosed deck, that includes thermally treated wood. There’s also a dining room that was designed to combine both natural daylight and energy efficient LED lighting.

Students rotate in and out of the Halo Home four at a time and share the small space so that they can learn sustainable habits from one another, which will be brought to their next home, making it even better than before. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thanks.

Tiny homes often face challenges related to codes and zoning, but some are conventionally permitted and totally legal. Alex and Allison built their striking, modern 320-square foot home legally as an “accessory dwelling,” a type of small house that shares a lot with a larger, primary dwelling. But in their unique case, they bought an empty lot, applied for permits to build a primary and accessory home, and then built the accessory first.

They’re in the process of building a larger (but still modest) primary home, but meanwhile, they’ve been happily living full-time in their accessory dwelling in the quirky and cool small town of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Both share an interest in sustainable design, and in the ways that small housing can contribute to healthy, livable communities. Their drive to build small came partly so architectural designer Alex could design and build an entire, energy-efficient house. One interior plywood wall separates the public living area from private spaces like the bathroom, and the bedroom that’s lofted above it. Though it’s just “one big room,” the high ceilings make it feel much more spacious than its floor plan would suggest.

Who wouldn’t love spending some time in a quaint 768 Sq. Ft. seaside cottage on the beautiful coastline of Cape Breton Island in Canada? Eagle Pass is the perfect getaway spot for anyone looking for some peace and quiet with a view.

Situated on a 7-acre property, five minutes away from the Cabot Trail, Eagle Pass features 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, an eat-in kitchen and a gorgeous patio to lounge on.  The cottage has a ton of natural light due to the many windows that it features and also has beautiful cathedral ceilings, which makes the space seem a lot larger than it actually is.  The kitchen features a very cool looking corrugated metal wall which goes well with the exposed framing of the white walls and ceiling.  The space is a mix of contemporary and traditional styles. All in all, it’s a great place to sit back, relax, BBQ and enjoy that beautiful view.
