This is the Buttercup, the latest iteration of the Kokosing model built by Modern Tiny Living. This model features a full kitchen, full bath, sleeping loft, high-top work/eat nook, and swiss-army-knife social area that can become an additional bed or lounge area.
The name comes from the soft, yellow color the clients chose for the exterior of their home. Inside, they kept things quite neutral, with white walls and natural wood trim. What’s your favorite part of this tiny house?
Modern Tiny Living built this beautiful custom 24 ft tiny home, called the Coastal Modern, for a client looking for an ADU to act as a guest cottage for friends and family.
It features a loft bedroom and a spacious social area where guests can relax and chat well into the evening. There’s a compact kitchen space since it’s not meant to be a full-time home. In the bathroom, guests will find a luxurious shower and a composting toilet. What do you think?
Named after a wonderful foreign-exchange student this family hosted years ago, the Ulla-Carin is a modern farmhouse THOW featuring a perfect first-floor bedroom with a closet/hanging space in the hallway. There’s also a stacked washer-dryer, convection oven, and tiled shower.
A bench couch has drawer storage underneath, and a long bar-height counter lets you eat with window views. Finally, there are two additional lofts, one with a king bed for guests. What’s your favorite part of this one?
Meet The Moth: A unique tiny home designed to bring the feel of a Georgia front porch (complete with light-seeking moths) to New York, where poet and novelist George Dawes Green can host story-telling events.
This THOW has a four-panel front door that completely opens so the indoors and outdoors can collide. Inside there’s seating, a mini kitchen, and bathroom. They call it the “Pop Up Porch” and you can check out events here.
Modern Tiny Living’s latest client didn’t want anything “normal” about her home design. She asked for bold colors and she got it! The exterior is a bright blue with lime green trim, and inside a blend of rocket red with black accents gives it a little rock ‘n’ roll feel.
But it’s not just snazzy, it’s super practical! There’s a ground-floor bedroom, closets, lots of overhead storage, two lofts (one micro, one for guests), and a compact bathroom. The galley kitchen has lots of counter space and a convection oven and cook top. Nothing boring over here! What do you like the most?

Actor and Filmmaker Justin Baldoni commissioned Modern Tiny Living to build him this gorgeous 24 foot THOW named the Ojai.
Inside you’ll find a bright and light interior, with a u-shaped lounge area that transforms into a guest bed. There are huge windows that let in natural light, and built-in bookshelves for trinkets (and books). The galley kitchen features space for a convection oven and gorgeous wood counters.
There’s a standard loft bedroom, and a bathroom complete with a shower stall and flush toilet. To get your own tiny house like this, contact the builder here.
Modern Tiny Living dubbed this home the “Trinity” and it is an absolutely stunning tiny house! The color scheme in this home is dreamy, with dark wood against white walls and gorgeous deep green cabinets for a pop of color.
The house has a “typical” tiny home layout, with a loft over a galley kitchen and bathroom. You’ll notice a full railing encasing the steps up to the loft bedroom.
Like many MTL designs, this one has their signature lounge area with under-couch storage that turns into a guest bed when needed. You can contact the builder for a quote here.
