This is the story of Jessie Lipskin, a young lady from Manhattan who decided to buy an old 1966 GMC Greyhound bus on eBay for $7,000 to turn into her very own tiny home on wheels.

So Jessie spent the next three years and $70k professionally remodeling it, plus an additional $55,000 on various other expenses to repair and maintain it to make it what it is today. The bus is 40ft long and 10ft wide so it offers about 400 square feet.

By the way, she’s now selling the bus for an asking price of $149,000 because she has plans to travel internationally so if you’re interested in taking it off her hands it’s available and she’s considering all offers.

Selling our Magic School Bus! I bought this bus almost four years ago and have been converting, driving, and living in it with my family every day since. Now I’m selling it as-is with everything you need to move right in and start traveling just as comfortably as we have been. This bus comes with my Honda generator, heavy-duty battery charger and a wired-in battery bank that can keep the fridge running for three days. It even comes with the extension chords to plug it into city electric. It comes with clean sheets for the beds, cookware, and custom made insulating curtains and a shelf full of seasoned fire wood for the wood-stove. This bus has everything plus the kitchen sink!

This is Steve’s house truck, a horsebox conversion called the “Kaya Box” that features a distinctly Rastafarian-themed interior.

Steve shared his ideas with Dean, owner of HouseBox in England, who made them into reality! For those who don’t know, horseboxes are used to transport horses, but this one has been transformed into a beautiful, handcrafted home. Way to reuse! There’s black, red and yellow tiling in the kitchen and bathroom along with red, yellow and green trimwork on the exterior that would make Bob Marley proud.

Take a video tour (inside starts around minute 11) and read Steve’s testimonial on the last page. Enjoy!

Brian and Stella Sullivan used to pay big rent to live in a two-bedroom apartment near Seattle and felt like finances were always tight and they weren’t spending quality time together as a family.

But when Brian got a job offer that would have required a two-hour commute, they ditched the conventional apartment life and created Big Bertha, a solar-powered bus conversion perfect for their family of five.

Freedom. Freedom with our money, our time and our location. [..] The most important thing in life is people, and spending the most time with our family and children was a huge priority. We were not about to sacrifice our family time to work multiple jobs, paying for a lifestyle we didn’t want. [..] Less space, less stuff, less time cleaning, less stress. More time to enjoy life and our children.

This is a video tour of their awesome tiny dwelling.
