This is a tiny two-story cottage called the Fulton. It’s a 600 Sq. Ft. accessory dwelling unit (ADU) built by Wishbone Tiny Homes in Asheville, North Carolina.

The home has a tiny footprint and tall stature! It’s two stories with two bedrooms, one and a half baths, and three decks (including a second-story balcony). If you go the ADU route (meaning you build the home on land with an existing primary structure), the website says “$200 – $350 per square foot covers everything from permitting to appliances.” Scroll through the picture tour below and get in touch with Wishbone Tiny Homes if you have questions. Enjoy!

If you’re looking to downsize, but under-400 sq. ft. is just too little, consider the Shilling 768 sq. ft. ADU (accessory dwelling unit) by Wishbone Tiny Homes.

This was built for a client on land that already had a larger home on it, and includes two bedrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs — also a loft!) and two baths. Wishbone Tiny Homes is located in Asheville, North Carolina, and they offer a number of ADUs in varying sizes. If you have friends or family that could allow it, you might be able to build an ADU on their property as one option for going tinier. Enjoy!

Right now I’d like to show you this 610 sq. ft. cottage by New Avenue Homes and tell you the story behind it.

When the homeowner’s daughter and her family were in need of a change she invited them to move in to her larger main house since they’re a growing family with two children.

This way, grandma can see her grandkids every day without having to drive anywhere, and she can live simply in a 610 sq. ft. cottage with less maintenance.

I see it as a total win-win because her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren get to be nearby. And they can share the costs associated with the entire property since they’re on a shared lot. It simplifies all of their lives.

As for the 610 sq. ft. cottage, it has a two bedroom design (one room is used as an office), kitchen, living area, and bathroom. To me this story is important because we don’t always have to go the extreme of a ‘tiny’ house to enjoy the benefits of a simple life. Please enjoy, talk about it in the comments, and re-share below.
