I wanted to show you these modern micro shelters built out of Sydney, Australia.
They can be used in combination to create a community of micro homes.
Or they can be creatively used to create your own tiny housing compound.
In this situation you might have 1-3 structures total to make up your home.
For example you can use one for living and sleeping, another for working and a third for bathing.

This custom built modular prefab home has the most amazing windows I think you will enjoy.
Built in 2003 for approximately $60,000 by Geoffrey Warner and his team.
A humble little abode is where a violinist of the Minnesota Orchestra finds a peaceful off-grid retreat with her family.
This is the Mighty Micro House on Wheels. It’s a 136-square-foot THOW that we first featured back in March of 2014 because it was for sale. Since then, it has sold, but it’s still documented here for your enjoyment.
This tiny house is built on an 18-foot flatbed utility trailer which makes it completely mobile. It weighs about 6,300 pounds and has two 3,500 pound axles. Step inside to find a cozy living area, kitchen, and sleeping loft. What do you think of it?

I don’t consider this a treehouse although it’s a modern micro cabin on stilts (so it’s similar to one).
But Rockefeller Partners Architects call the project and shelter shown here the Banyan Treehouse.
I like the name because it’s like a modern take on the treehouse (using no living trees).
And since the shelter sits 12′ off the ground it still looks and feels like a treehouse.
It’s near downtown Los Angeles and just 170 sq. ft. in size.
The tiny house is built on steel stilts and it has a modern, minimalist and whimsical flair.

One group of people that could desperately use tiny houses are the homeless.
That’s why I’m usually for any project tailored to help provide micro housing (shelter) for homeless people.
And in many cases this doesn’t even have to be a fancy cabin with all of the comforts of home.
It just needs to be shelter from the elements and a place to safely keep and carry essential belongings for those without a home.
