This 576 sq. ft. small house is designed by architect Bruce Lanier of Standard Creative. It has a 24′ by 24′ footprint and sits on 15′ tall foundation piers. When you go inside you’ll find a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom with a genius sliding barn door designed and built by Zack Giffin of Tiny House Nation that houses extra chairs and a dining table!
Since this tiny cabin sits on stilts you also get plenty of covered outdoor space underneath the structure which is a great feature in a small home. The family who built it currently uses it to vacation on their spare time when they get time off from school and work (which keeps them elsewhere). They also rent it out to others using Airbnb and HomeAway so if you wanted you can try out tiny living here. Cool, right? In the future they plan on moving in to live in it full time.

This is a 191 sq. ft. modern cabin designed by Olson Kundig. It’s located off the coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
You’ll notice a large weathered steel clad panel door that slides across the window wall to secure the space. This also serves as a privacy wall for the outdoor shower.
The single room studio floor plan features wood-finished surfaces that help make it feel like a cozy sanctuary. Inside you’ll find a wood stove, bed, kitchenette, and a toilet. “The cabin is so small you have to go outside—that’s the point,” says Tom Kundig.

It’s called the Techstyle Haus and it’s one of the most efficient homes we’ve ever featured because it creates 50% more energy power than it uses thanks to innovative design, the textile-mounted photovoltaic system, and its solar thermal units.
A dedicated and diverse team from Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and the University of Applied Sciences of Erfurt competed it in the 2014 European Solar Decathlon which is an international competition that challenges 20 university teams to compete in ten contests to build a completely solar-powered house.

Here is our tiny salvaged cottage for my little brother.
First, let me explain that we have a large family (8 girls and 3 boys) and both parents are deceased many years ago. We have always been very close and if any sibling is in need we are there to help.
My little brother’s house burned down and he lost everything including his small dog. He was just able to get out alive before the whole house was gone. He had his house on a family property so we had the land. My sister and I started looking at trailer houses, then we found this little house.
The house is one large room with a small bathroom. It had been empty for many years and was in need of a complete re-do. First we had to try and get the owner to sell us this house at the right price so we could then afford to have it moved to his land.
