The amazing part of this little cottage is that it started out as a dilapidated shed! Now, the 451 square foot farmhouse is a lovely one-bedroom, one-bathroom vacation property that shows you just how lovely a tiny house on a foundation can be.

Looking to get into van life, but not quite into converting a van yourself? No worries, that’s why there are van conversions already for sale, and that’s also why there are companies completely dedicated to converting vans for people like you, completely custom, too.

There are few things as quaint and cozy as stone, and that proves true in this tiny stone cottage affixed to the Pony Barn Bar & Restaurant on a 120-acre heritage breed farm.

This cabin is a great example of *not* painting natural wood, and yet still getting a light airy feel with the white furniture and accents! I’m partial to seeing wood grain, so this looks especially inviting.
While not exactly tiny, this smaller vacation rental offers plenty of ideas for little spaces, and it’s impeccably decorated. There are three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and two bathrooms (one with a tub/shower and one with a shower). The kitchen has all you need to cook and serve a meal.

Natalie and Lucas have lived in tents as wilderness guides, rented small spaces and cabins, and even lived in a 29-foot sailboat while building their tiny house! Now they’re proud owners of their off-grid THOW, which they’ve lived in for 4 years.
First they parked in Northern Wisconsin on a friend’s land, and now they rent from a couple in Oregon they met via Facebook. Their home doesn’t have running water, but they do have a great solar system set up for electricity.
Many of the materials in their home were reclaimed from places that have significance to the couple, and all in all they spent about $30,000 on their tiny home. Conventional design wisdom claims you can’t use dark colors in small spaces, but this tiny house built in Germany by Tiny House Manufaktur shows there’s an exception to every rule.
Paired with a light, natural wood, the black cabinets, steps, and accent walls in this THOW not only work but provide a modern, luxurious aesthetic. There’s an abundance of hidden storage in this home, with tons under the stairs, and an additional storage/sleeping loft over the living area.
To me, it looks like that couch could easily become another guest bed, and the bathroom includes a flush toilet and heated towel rack (one of Europe’s best inventions, in my humble opinion). You can get in touch with the builder here.
