It all started when Mike and Kerry’s neighbor called up wanting the old car in their front yard. Mike joked he’d trade it for the neighbor’s bus, and within hours the neighbor showed up driving the bus! The project started and the couple eventually decided to hit the road.
They were honest about the costs — while they set out to spend only $15K, in order to make the bus into a home they really loved, they ended up spending $60K! But, Kerry says their skoolie is specially designed to make her life battling with childhood PTSD easier, and that’s priceless.
The mosaic tile shower she made from dinner plates is definitely the coolest shower I’ve seen to date! And just wait to see the Dutch door.

Here’s another super cool geodesic dome home, this one tucked in a Wildlife Sanctuary which is sure to make for a unique stay.
It features a large living room and kitchen, along with a king bedroom and spacious bathroom on the first floor. There’s another king bedroom and private bathroom upstairs! This would be a cool place to take the family.

In her mid-fifties, Allyson realized she hadn’t saved enough for retirement and faced the prospect of working indefinitely to pay rent. When she discovered tiny living, she saw a path forward and began learning carpentry skills, collecting inexpensive windows from Facebook Marketplace, and planning her forever home. With guidance from a carpenter, Allyson built “Daisy”—her DIY tiny house on wheels. She even planned ahead for aging in place, designing a downstairs sleeping arrangement for when climbing to the loft becomes difficult. With the house complete and a parking spot secured, she’s achieved what seemed impossible just a few years earlier.

This is Roberta’s small cottage in San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica.
She bought the house sight unseen, later remodeled it, and has been living there since 2015. Not long after settling in, she built a tiny house (casita or ‘cabina’) on the property as well! This is the latest custom build from Indigo River Tiny Homes, affectionately dubbed “Casa Blanca.” It’s a Rambler Deluxe model with a lot of great kitchen upgrades.
It’s a 10×36 footer, making it pretty huge as tiny homes go. It includes an insulated bike shed, huge lofted ceilings, and a loft bedroom you can stand in! There’s even a food truck window with a pop-up table so you can serve food outdoors. Pretty neat! Tell us what you think in the comments.

Here’s another awesome 28-foot tiny house built by Liberation Tiny Homes in Pennsylvania which they call the Strasburg. It starts at $91,000 and can be built as an 8.5 or 10-foot wide home.
The best part? It has a dedicated downstairs bedroom so you don’t have to climb up to the loft to sleep! There’s a large galley kitchen with plenty of counterspace and a compact bathroom with a shower and toilet.

Chris Rodiger is a senior at Colby College in Maine and an accomplished artist. As if his gorgeous “En Plein Air” paintings weren’t enough, he built himself a truck bed tiny house with minimal woodworking experience — and the result is stunning!
He calls it the “Beehive” and he spent the summer of 2021 living and working out of the truck, selling his paintings. His college was awesome and actually funded his tiny home creation as part of a class project — does it get better than that?
Now he’s back on campus (gets a little too chilly in Maine for his un-insulated tiny!), but he can always head out in his home and paint wherever calls him! We got to do a Q&A with him, which you can read after the video about Chris below.
