Meet Martha — a lifelong Star Wars fan who went tiny and now lives in a shipping container home nicknamed the “Death Star” inside a thriving tiny house village built by Incredible Tiny Homes. The single-floor container home has no loft, a farmhouse kitchen, a built-in workspace, and a community of neighbors she sees every single day.

Ashley and Alexis are sisters who were sharing an apartment in Tampa, Florida when their landlords were raising rent — again. That’s when they decided to go tiny! Instead of sharing a tiny home, they each bought their own and customized it to their own unique style and needs — but they live right next door to each other at the Circle Pond Tiny Community. We interviewed Alexis a couple years ago. She lives in her cozy farmhouse THOW with her young daughter. Her sister Ashley lives in her own modern THOW with two dogs and enjoys cooking in her large kitchen. The video below tours each of their unique homes!

Chris and Lindsay are one remarkable couple! They both traveled independently extensively before meeting and marrying each other (in just 9 months!). Three years into marriage they started fostering 8 children, which they loved. But when the children were placed in new homes they decided to fulfill a long-time dream of traveling from Alaska to Argentina.
While COVID restrictions have made them rethink their original itinerary, they’ve spent nearly 4 years on the road traveling full-time! They started with a truck camper and now have a beautiful 1999 Class C that they took from drab and dated to dazzling.

Stephanie made sure to include everything that was important to her in her van, including an oven and three-burner stove so she could cook anything she dreamed up. She also made space for a shower and a toilet, making this truly a micro home on wheels.
Before van life, Stephanie was a chef and owned a food truck, but in her first month of van life said she saw more of the US than she had in her whole life! Needless to say, the travel bug is strong with her and she will keep going until she’d ready for something new.

This couple has dreams of buying land and living as farmers someday, but to make that dream a reality they needed to find a way to simplify and save! So they decided to go tiny. Richard is a carpenter by trade, which served them well. He enjoyed the build so much, he opened his own tiny house building business, Lionheart Homes.
They didn’t want to sacrifice on bathroom space, so they made room for a 5-foot shower tiled with gorgeous teal tiles. It’s clearly a favorite color, since they also have teal cushions, cabinets, and exterior siding. So fun! Tell us what you think in the comments.

The Vista’s defining characteristic is what it leaves out: there is no loft at all. Everything happens on one level, which means full ceiling height throughout and no ladder to climb at any point in the home’s life.
This was a lightly used example returned to the market by ESCAPE.
Editor’s note: this Vista was listed at $66,736 in 2022 — a saving of roughly $7,100 — and it has sold. The Vista remains in ESCAPE’s lineup. Here is how it was described at the time:

When Lea was diagnosed with endometriosis, she needed to find a more flexible source of income that would allow her to manage her condition and take time off as needed. The city of Albuquerque allows for ADUs, so she and her husband chose to purchase a shipping container and transform it into an Airbnb.
They also have an older adobe home, so their plan is that once the container home has paid for itself, they will move in and renovate their small home. The income stream is just what Lea needed, and she used her amazing design skills to make it quite the home!
