The road to van life hasn’t been easy for this couple. It all started when Daphne outfitted a van for herself and left Matt in New York, so she could go travel. After he spent some time visiting her in the van, he wanted to join her full-time. But, Daphne’s van was totaled in a car crash right after Matt sold his house.

Both homeless, the couple decided to build out a second van and travel together. A professional musician, Daphne performs and teaches remote flute lessons. Matt does freelance drafting for roofing companies. They strayed from the norm in the van world and chose wallpaper rather than shiplap for their walls. Pretty awesome!

Mike started to realize he used very little of his larger Portland home and was ready to downsize. His new park model tiny home in Durango has two loft bedrooms and a ground floor bedroom with high ceilings. The bathroom is also incredibly spacious, with a shower you could dance in!

The living room and kitchen flow together, complete with a walk-in pantry, full-sized appliances, and oodles of his artwork on the walls. The plants are the best part! He has a little jungle going on that brings the outside in. What do you think?

This unique getaway was designed by architect Josh Schweitzer and was used as a private getaway up until recently. Freshly remodeled, the cubist-inspired cabins feature bold colors and all the amenities of home.

There’s a great room and adjacent kitchen, along with a single bedroom (first floor) and bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower. The third structure is a covered outdoor eating area, and you’ll find a patio area between the buildings. The complex stands in the middle of the Joshua Tree desert, with striking rock formations and mountains in the distance.

These small house plans would be perfect for anyone reaching retirement age. The single-level floor plan features a studio-style layout with the bedroom and living room dominating the space. There’s a comfortable L-shaped kitchen, a couple of closets, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

At 560 square feet, it’s just a bit more spacious than a “tiny home” and the added carport makes getting indoors in inclement weather that much easier.  Add a jacuzzi underneath the outside overhang! The plans for this are sold by The Small House Catalog.

Every now and again, we see a home that just makes our jaws drop — and this is one of them! This amazing Norwegian family designed and built an incredible glass dome around their cob house built only from natural and reclaimed materials.

The dome allows them to grow grapes, veggies and multiple fruit trees, and they have a wastewater recycling system that waters their plants from the water they use in the house. The whole set-up is mind-blowing, so please enjoy the video below!
