Morgan and Matt travel with their baby daughter Aupi and dog Nandi in a self-converted skoolie. The couple were no strangers to tiny living before their daughter came around — they’d lived in a sailboat and an overlander in Australia for years.

They wanted to move to the U.S. for Aupi’s birth to be closer to family, but also didn’t want to get into the rental market. A skoolie sounded like the perfect solution. They call their home “The Green Bean.”

This unique cabana in Colombia is one of the most architecturally distinctive tiny houses we’ve featured. The floor plan is shaped like a plus sign (+), with curved archways and cozy alcoves that create multiple defined living spaces within a compact footprint. The large arched windows frame stunning city views that make this home truly special.

The home sits on a beautiful mountaintop patio in Cali, Colombia, with outdoor seating for two and a couple’s hot tub under an overhang. Designed by architect Rodrigo Uribe, the cabana won a National Design Award—a testament to its innovative approach to small-space living.

This 400-square-foot tiny house on wheels demonstrates what’s possible when you combine tiny living with Hawaiian paradise. Located in Upcountry Maui within a small community of just five tiny homes, this salmon-pink cottage shows how tiny house communities can offer the perfect balance of privacy and neighborly connection.

What makes this setup particularly interesting is the solar power system that eliminates electricity bills entirely—a significant consideration given Hawaii’s high utility costs. The home also features a greywater recycling system, propane utilities, and a self-contained septic setup, making it a great case study in semi-off-grid island living.

The Persis Shed was once a simple gambrel-roof storage shed with a concrete floor, but Nick transformed it into an amazing vacation cabin!

The first floor of the cabin has a sectional couch, a dining area for two, a kitchenette with an induction cook top, and a dorm-size refrigerator. Up a very sturdy ladder you’ll find the sleeping loft, which has full standing height and a queen-sized bed. This is just one of many cabins on Nick’s property, but it was the first guest house he completed!

After living in Colombia, Geoffrey was hesitant to return to “normal” life when he moved back to France. But a tiny house? That he built himself with reclaimed materials for under $20,000? Now that sounded like a project right up his alley.

And he did an amazing job making his home on wheels! It’s an ingenious design with a super cool living room area that’s modular and fits all his dining, gaming, and working needs. Just wait until you tour the space!

These small home plans would be perfect on a longer, thin lot, as this house stands at 58 feet long, and only 13 feet long. Eight feet of it is a covered porch off of the living room where you could enjoy a cup of morning coffee.

The home is all one level, with an open-concept living room and kitchen with an eat-in island. Behind the kitchen, you’ll find the bedroom, with a large floor-to-ceiling wall of cabinets for clothing storage. The bathroom sits at the very back of the home. This would be a great aging-in-place floor plan! What do you think?

Cairo is one incredible person! He writes poetry, does photography, teaches nutrition and breathwork, and films and edits movies and commercials. And he sings! And now he does it all from the studio annex he built in his parents’ urban backyard in the UK. The home is a minimalist marvel, and if you’re into clean lines and white interiors, you’re going to adore this space.

All in all, the build came in around $132,000 since they were constructing it in 2020, while material prices were skyrocketing. Still, Cairo sees it as an investment since it’s raised the value of his parent’s property, and someday that will come back to him in an inheritance.

I haven’t seen a good Craftsman-style tiny home in a while, with the pretty painted shingles contrasted with dark trim — but I love it! Pair it with a glossy emerald-green door and you have… perfection.

The house has a slightly elevated living room, with secret storage underneath, as well as a bay window and bench with additional storage. The galley kitchen has an oven, apartment-sized fridge, and farmhouse sink.

But the real stunner in this THOW is the bathroom! While the rest of the home is muted beige and white tones, the bathroom has a bold pop of emerald green wall tiles, along with black-and-white floor tiles. The wooden Japanese-inspired soaking tub is the icing on the cake. You can purchase it for $79,000 in Newberg, Oregon.
