Karen’s journey toward tiny living began after her youngest child moved out. She started by selling her home and began traveling in an RV. Then she decided on a tiny house, so she put a down payment on a home from a tiny house builder, only to find out some months later that the business went under, and her money was gone.
Not giving up, she paid the loan back, recouped her losses, and was able to purchase a new Incred-i-Box model tiny home from Incredible Tiny Homes for $20,000. She spent some time finishing the interior and now lives in a park in Arizona, loving that her dreams of living simply and affordably finally came true!

She lives nearby and we decided if she can do it, we can make a 20′ work for us. As a survival structure, they have the most potential going for the price in North America. About a week left on Randy’s RJO $15K sale so you better hurry as not only is it STEEL it is also probably the last chance to steal a livable space with a kitchen and a bathroom that is MOBILE that will ever happen. She has taken the shed slope design and created lemonade from just half a lemon. Proof of positive thinking and creativity.
Speaking of survival, a 20′ is on my design desk I call the Super 8. Sleeps 8, full kitchen, two baths, W/D. We should ALL adapt like this lady. Make what we have work and stay mobile…. Harder to hit ….Because the Billionaire Species has decided they don’t like us walking on their Earth.
UGH..It is too small..I understand she is happy with it.
There are always trade offs, size is one of them to deal with the costs and some people prefer the smaller size.
However, ITH offers options to expand as each unit can be combined with an Add-A-Box, which is essentially a shell version of the unit that can be connected to the Incred-I-Box in a modular way to scale to a larger structure and it’s intended to be something the owner can DIY to change and customize as they want, as long as they can DIY those final details and thus avoid most of the normal commercially built costs.
It really is on the smaller scale. It could be a great start though and over time you can possibly add a deck plus add some other structures to the mix like a shed, bathhouse, office cabin, etc. I don’t know, just thinking out loud here!
Could not live in hot Arizona but hasn’t she made a fine home for her needs?!
I wonder if you could get a gable roof instead of a flat one.
This model, no, but they have others with gables at a little higher price. They mainly do model series these days with only a few custom builds a year. Just check their website for options…
Thanks for jumping in with that info, James! 😊 Great point — it’s good to know they still offer some models with gable options for folks who prefer that classic roofline. Appreciate you sharing the extra details!
Great question, Maria! 😊 It sounds like this particular model only comes with a flat roof, but as James mentioned, some of their other models do include gable options if you’re after that traditional look. Definitely worth checking their site for current builds and pricing! Here’s a link to their models: https://incredibletinyhomes.com/models/
