Woodberry’s Farm Treehouse 19

This magical 380 sq. ft. treehouse sits on Woodberry Farm in Tennessee — 94 lovely acres of rolling pasture and woodland. Guests not only get to sleep in this well-crafted cabin that includes a cozy gas fireplace, huge glass walls with farmland views, and reclaimed slate roofing tiles — they can go fishing on the farm’s pond or hike around it.

There’s a huge king bed that sits beneath a gallery of wood slices, and a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee station. In the bathroom you get a flush toilet along with a large walk-in shower with two shower heads. Pretty awesome!

I love that they lit each individual stair up to the loft! That has to be handy for making any bathroom runs middle-of-the-night. There’s a roomy loft bedroom, and the bathroom has a washer, shower stall, and RV toilet. Check it out below.

heir DIY Van Build. 2

Brad and Shyla wanted to switch things up in life, so they went down the van life rabbit-hole on YouTube, purchased a van, and then moved in — when all they had in it was a platform and their Tempurpedic mattress! Neither had any construction experience, but the finished product is gorgeous.

They included an oven (pretty rare in vans) so professional baker Brad could cook bread in his Dutch Oven! Shyla is a professional makeup artist but works remotely to support them now that the build is complete. I think you’ll love what you see below.

Bev’s Bohemian Van Update! 2

When Beverly first got into vanlife three years ago, she kept things simple and to a tight budget just to make sure she really wanted to live in a van. You might remember her last van tour we showed off here. Well now she’s had some time to make renovations and wanted to share her upgrades!

She’s a year older now, and even happier than before with her van. She upgraded the kitchen, power system, shower and bed platform, and added an induction cooktop and swivel chair to the inside. You’ll find her signature tassle-and-gem decor still covers everything, and her Brad Pitt pillow has his rightful spot on her bed.

Family of 4 Sells 3 Bdrm Home for 42 Foot 5th Wheel

When the housing market started exploding, Nikki and Lindsay saw it as the perfect time to sell their 3-bedroom home and purchase a fifth wheel RV so they could travel the country with their two sons.

Originally the RV was fairly outdated, with bulky (and heavy) furniture. But they added paint, wallpaper and new furniture and really made a perfect, homey space — complete with a coffee bar for their favorite drink. Enjoy the tour!

Casas Acapulco Chile 8

David has nearly 35 years of construction experience, and his business, “Casas Acapulco” in Mexico creates awesome custom trailers. But he contacted us to share his A-Frame cabin that he, his wife and six children built. He lives in it with his wife.

The one bedroom, one bathroom cabin is about 336 square feet. It’s 12 feet wide and 28 feet long, and includes a staircase up to the loft where the bedroom and bathroom are. Enjoy the photos of David’s handiwork below!

Getaway House Now Has 800 Cabins Country-Wide 11

Back when we first told you about Getaway House, there were only a few homes in three different locations on the East Coast. But the concept of private, internet-free tiny homes where you can escape the demands of every day was so popular, the company now has plans for 800 tiny homes in 16 locations. Just recently, they opened their 16th location in Moodus, CT!

It all started when Jon Staff and his dad built three off-grid cabins and put them on a plot in New Hampshire. The tiny homes sold out almost immediately, and Staff realized they were on to something. The cabins themselves are incredibly simple, with either a queen bed for two or two queens (one lofted) for four. There’s a little kitchenette, shower & toilet, and a firepit outdoors.

They welcome you to put your devices in their lockbox and truly unplug from it all, just enjoying nature (and maybe whoever you’re staying with). My husband and I actually spent a weekend in one of their New Hampshire cabins a couple of years ago, and I shared some photos below.

Kris’ Handmade Off-Grid Smallholding in Wales 3

As a fellow homesteader/self-sufficient wannabe, Kris’ tour of his smallholding that he created from basically nothing for very little money is absolutely astounding. He’s planted 2,500 trees, built a solar array and hydroelectric plant, crafted his own cordwood home as well as a huge workshop, greenhouse, and multiple outbuildings all using — primarily — materials from his land, hand tools, and reclaimed items!

His cordwood home which he started with cost him about $3,000 and took about a year to build since he was traveling to and from London to create it. Once he had a place to live, he took on all the other projects and has accomplished more in five years than many of us will in a lifetime! Incredible. Enjoy every minute of the video tour below.
