Compact pink tiny house on wheels in a desert setting with mountains in the background.

Rita is a remarkable woman who converted an old shuttle bus into her PINK home on wheels in just a few months — all by herself.  Oh, and she only spent $9K on the whole thing!

She kept the interior of her bus simple, but awesome, and made sure she had a dedicated studio space for all of her painting with different mediums. Enjoy the tour!

Vintage turquoise 1969 VW bus parked on sandy beach with ocean view.

Guillermo has lived all over the world. Born in Argentina, he spent a few years in Florida before doing most of his growing up in Spain. As an adult, he moved to the US where he’s lived for 26 years in a number of states including Pennsylvania, Texas, and California. Bus life had always been on his bucket list, but he jumped into it quite rapidly after meeting the woman who renovated this VW bus.

She was looking for more space, and before he knew it, Guillermo was buying it from her! It has awesome murals that she put in, a beautiful coat of turquoise paint, and lovely striped upholstery. Its small size means that he does most of his living outdoors — which is how he likes it!

Modern eOne XL tiny house kitchen with wooden finishes and efficient layout.

The eOne XL Wide & Tall is ESCAPE’s answer to the single most common complaint about tiny houses: the loft. Most sleeping lofts are a mattress under a slope you cannot sit up in. This build goes wide and tall enough that the upper level reads as an actual second floor — almost standing height, with large windows and a cable rail instead of a claustrophobic crawlspace.

Downstairs is arranged like a small apartment. A large galley kitchen runs along one wall with a laundry center worked into the cabinetry, and the living room carries a full built-in entertainment wall. The bathroom is the giveaway that this is the luxury tier: a tiled shower stall rather than the usual one-piece fiberglass insert, plus a flush toilet and vanity.

Editor’s note: this was Unit #583, offered with a $14K discount in 2023, and it has long since sold. The eOne XL is still built to order, so we’ve kept the tour up as a reference on wide-and-tall loft design. For homes available now, see below.

There’s an L-shaped kitchen at the back of the barn, and next to it is a little bathroom with a shower and toilet. This is such a great example of what can be done with a shed kit! Would you live in a shed-turned-tiny house?

Custom comic book themed shuttle bus tiny home parked outdoors in a desert landscape.

Travis works as a Comic Book Ambassador, traveling the country talking about comics and sharing awesome YouTube videos about what’s new in the comic world. And amazingly, he paid for his shuttle bus conversion by selling his own comic collection. Pretty neat!

We got a chance to do a Q&A with Travis about what inspired him to go tiny and what he thinks of his tiny life now. Check out some pictures of his rig below.

Small wooden tiny house with red roof in wooded area, outdoor seating.

York Beach is an awesome New England vacation spot and this little pine cabin is just a short walk or bike ride from local beaches. But you also get the lovely feel of being in a wooded area, since the cabin sits on the edge of a forest. Best of both worlds!

The one-room cabin has a futon that can turn into a ground-floor bed, but it also has a cozy loft for kids or adventurous adults. There’s a little kitchenette as well, and an outdoor shower. What do you love about this cabin?
