Modern tiny house on wheels with sleek black and white exterior, built for mobility and small space.

You’ll want to bookmark this one for later. In this post, we’re sharing two in-depth videos from Drew of Drew Builds Stuff, documenting his DIY tiny house build from a bare trailer to a fully enclosed shell.

The build isn’t finished just yet—Drew still has the bathroom and kitchen to complete at the end of Part Two—but the videos are calm, detailed, and genuinely inspiring. He walks through each step of the process in a way that’s easy to follow and satisfying to watch.

In the first video, Drew completes the entire exterior build, including framing, roofing, window installation, and more. Part Two shifts inside, where he focuses on insulation, finishes, and interior progress (excluding the kitchen and bathroom). We’ll update this post as new parts are released, but for now, it’s a great look at what it really takes to build your own tiny house on wheels.

Update: We’ve added the remaining videos, including the bathroom, bedroom, and final finishing stages of the build.

Tiny house on a lush green hillside in Queensland, Australia.

Cat and her daughter lived in an apartment in Brisbane, when they were told they had to leave within 8 weeks because the landlord sold the apartment. That and the rising cost of rent was the final straw that convinced Cat to get back to her roots and back out to the countryside!

After designing the perfect tiny house for the two of them, they moved the Eucalyptus-green THOW onto a friend’s gorgeous property in Queensland, Australia. It has everything the two of them need, including space for all her daughter’s toys (her daughter didn’t want to downsize them). What do you think of this lovely tiny house?

Accessible van with hydraulic lift bed for wheelchair users.

Lisa Franks thought her athletic career was over when a spinal cord injury left her in a wheelchair at 14 years old. But Paralympians visited her and showed her she could find new ways to pursue her passions. She went on to compete in three Paralympic Games and earn seven medals. A later shoulder injury required multiple surgeries and sidelined her for years—and that’s when she discovered car camping.

The camping experience led Lisa to order a Ford Transit and create a fully wheelchair-accessible home on wheels. She can navigate the entire van independently, including loading her mountain bike and surfboard using the adaptive systems she designed into the build.

Interior of a tiny house bus with cozy seating, colorful cushions, and wooden ceiling.

Amanda and her three teenage children decided to go tiny in a school bus conversion about three years ago. It took them about 18 months to convert the bus into a home on wheels, and they’ve been traveling in it for another 18 months.

The bus has many reclaimed and recycled features, which is one of the ways they kept costs down. They have plenty of seating in the living room so all the kids are comfortable, and a compact bathroom that meets their needs. Watch their inspirational tour below!

Compact van conversion with wet bath and dishwasher for efficient downsizing.

Caitlin left a large traditional home after a divorce and moved into a custom-built van conversion that met all her needs. She credits the transition with improving her mental health, finding freedom in downsizing and minimizing her belongings.

Despite going tiny, she didn’t sacrifice comfort. Her van, named “Vanastasia,” features a wet bathroom with an Airhead composting toilet, quartz countertops, and even a dishwasher—which she appreciates because it uses minimal water. The build was completed by Boujie Builds from Fayetteville, North Carolina.
