Favian is a civil rights lawyer who enjoys a nomadic life from his van! He can even do Zoom hearings from the comfort of just about anywhere because of his office setup and Starlink connection.

He purchased the van as an empty shell and converted it over the course of about 10 months. He had a few “must-haves” including an indoor shower and a bed that could fit his height. Favian created a great office space with swivel seat, and another one with a makeshift standing desk for those long days! Enjoy the tour.

Brittany had all the normal stuff — a spouse, a house, and a business she was successfully running. But she got divorced and later met a couch surfer whose life she was envious of. He called her out, saying she could do what he was doing and travel the world. So she sold her house, sold her share of the business, and took off on a backpacking world tour for two years!

Eventually, she wanted a little more stability and built out a van. The van had so many mechanical issues, however, that she decided to get a new one — and this time she got something newer and professionally built out by Dave and Matt Vans. The build is gorgeous! Enjoy the tour below.

For Francesca, travel was a part of life, and van life gave her the opportunity to *live* her travels. So she and her dad spent five months building a truly gorgeous van! You’d never know this wasn’t a professional conversion.

She chose a convertible bed in the back and while this layout is “controversial,” she did it so well! It allowed for an incredible amount of counter space in the kitchen, which makes cooking from “home” so much easier. Check out our Q&A with her below, and be sure to look at her amazing macrame creations.

Eloise and her van are proof that you don’t need a high-end Sprinter van with a professional conversion to be happy and fulfilled in van life. In fact, she test-drove a brand-new Sprinter and says she’d still prefer her rig to one of them! She actually test-drove dozens of vans over the course of a few years, and every time the van life itch would start. However, she always found a reason to stick to normal life until she finally gave herself an ultimatum in 2018.

Either she was doing van life, or she was never allowed to think about it and research it again. Once she found the perfect van, she spent about 6 months renovating it, thinking she’d use it in its rustic state for a year and then get a new van or upgrade her set-up. Turns out, she doesn’t mind the simpler design with limited electricity and plumbing! And she’s kept the same van this whole time. See it below…

The biggest debates when converting a van seem to be 1) Should you install an indoor shower? and 2) Should you have a fixed bed or a convertible one? Blake and Tabby chose to maximize space and leave out the shower. They also chose a convertible bed that sets up as a U-shaped conversation area during the day.

They’re taking this fantastic ProMaster to visit all the National Parks and have no plans of quitting vanlife anytime soon. Because they’d sold most of their belongings and furniture before moving into the van, the space felt rather luxurious compared to eating ramen in their empty apartment! You can see why in the tour below.

Johnny’s van life began in 2019 in a VW Bus which he loved, but ultimately he wanted some more space. So he upgraded to a Ford Transit with an incredible convertible system that can be set up in a number of wild combinations (bed, desk, dinette, and more!).

He does have a storage unit where he keeps his seasonal toys, so he only carries the adventure gear he needs for the season at hand. That’s a great option for an outdoor enthusiast like Johnny! What do you think of his rig?

Sierra loved to travel and wanted a way to see the world with her dogs in tow. Vanlife was a great option, especially because her job went remote and allows her flexibility. She has a ProMaster which was professionally converted by Off-Grid Adventure Vans, and it’s truly a work of art.

Because she loves to cook, Sierra wanted an oven with three burners. She has a Nature’s Head hiding under the kitchen cabinet, which transforms into a vanity space when needed. The Murphy bed set-up does take away from some storage, but she loves it for the versatility in her living room/bedroom/office. What’s your favorite part?
