Tiny Cabins in Sacred Mountain Sanctuary Eco Village

I’m excited about building up a list of up and coming as well as current tiny house communities and in this post I’m introducing you to the 333 acre Sacred Mountain Sanctuary Eco Village which is in Candler, North Carolina.

It’s near Asheville (about 25 minute drive away) and it is a new permaculture eco village that is still being developed. Right now it’s possible to arrange a visit, stay in a cabin, and learn about permaculture.

And in this post you’ll get to tour some of their tiny houses virtually, take a video tour of the village, and check out their website, blog and Facebook page to learn more and connect with Sacred Mountain Sanctuary.

Videos: Tiny Cabin Village at Sacred Mountain Sanctuary

Skip video to about 1:12 to skip directly to the micro cabins. Unfortunately you won’t get to see the interior of the cabins in this video but you will get to learn a lot about the property from a visitor’s perspective who was willing to share in the video below.

Superb ideas guys were in UK and only wish it were as easy as it seems to be in the US to own and live in such a building.
Our planning laws, and land costs would make this whole idea a non starter IF you didn’t already own suitable land for it, although it appeals to me to try to set up a UK community but wouldn’t know how to begin, although I have vast experience in Forum design building and management to help it all along, unless land can be found though it’s pointless, any large land bank owners got a few acres near or on a stream that would like to donate the lease of said land for say 25 yrs to give us a head start, then please don’t be shy, do let us know you exist by @ me at [email protected].
I have as I say been seeking suitable property for myself, my significant other and our two King Charles Cavalier spaniels and our crazy “monster mob” called “Asbo” ?? to give me half a chance at rest and recouperation as I suffer with many muscle wasting related illnesses and quite frankly just need off the proverbial hamster wheel, and allowed to live our way at our pace without hassles, annoyances and damned kids footballs would you begin to understand a group of various houses 40 in all with one bungalow bang smack in the middle? with the largest garden my a long long way, (I can virtually lean out my bedroom window and shake hands with whomever is on next doors trampoline, it being maximum 12 ft away, alsobeing that my disabled toilet and bedroom is set in this corner of the property which can’t be changed, neither can the kids up and down the street that clearly ignore the “No Ball Games” signage but then with adults that ignore the “No Parking” & “Turning Circle Only” signs what hope is there of any peace and quiet ??.? yip u guessed it NONE fed up fighting now I just don’t have the strength, stamina or interest any longer I simply want to sort it out myself my way if I can (also willing to surrender a secure tenancy agreement in order to gain that peace and quiet) as it means that much to me!!!
So IF anyone knows how to get around planning and other laws preventing this type of thing in the UK (Scotland) then as I say please get in touch, or alternatively if you wish to join me In a UK small homes group let me know and we can start one, either way would love to hear your stories both good and bad in choosing a site in the UK ……….
