Most tiny houses ask you to climb a ladder to go to bed. Wind River Built’s Pingora asks you to climb a set of stairs to go sit down.
That inversion is the whole idea. The Chattanooga, Tennessee builder calls it a reverse loft: the sleeping area stays on the main floor, tucked under a raised platform, and the living room goes up top where the ceiling is highest and the windows are biggest. You get a real bed you can walk to at 2 a.m. and a lounge with a view — in a 24-foot box.
The Pingora comes in 24-foot and 30-foot lengths, sleeps two to four, and as of August 27, 2026 the model page prints $88,400 & $111,800* as its sale/starting line, with “*Contact for pricing.” Here’s how the layout actually works.
Wind River does it again with their gorgeous Rutledge model. At 38′ long, it’s a big home, but that allows for a spacious, private first-floor bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, as well as a king-sized loft accessible via storage stairs.
There’s also no lack of counter space in this model, with a unique kitchen layout that fits full-size appliances. Plus, you can choose to have either a walk-in mudroom at the back of the home or a second bathroom! Finally, there’s a living room lit up by tons of large windows. This model starts at $139,200.
Here is a beautiful 24′ Pingora model tiny house that starts at $88,400* by Wind River Tiny Homes that was just completed for a client in July. The Pingora features a “reverse loft,” where the living room is in the lofted area and a bedroom (4 feet-high) is underneath.
