Lindsey jumped on the #vanlife bandwagon after spending some time as a nanny in Italy, and it’s been just over a year since she started living and traveling in her van.
This lifestyle means she can work different gigs here and there and then jump back on the road and travel with what she’s saved up. Her dad (who has been flipping homes for 40 years) helped her created her first van, which has a sunny yellow kitchen and the most gorgeous Frida-inspired quilt created by her mother.
While she ended up living with her boyfriend and his parents during quarantine, she spent the time outfitting a second van build to sell (check it out here!). We got to do a Q&A with her which you’ll definitely want to read at the end of the post.

This 2017 Sprinter Van looks magazine ready with live-edge counter tops and a Moroccan tile backsplash that’s absolutely glamorous. Chris and Lisa explain in a tiny space it’s easier to afford those high-end touches they’d never have been able to afford in a larger home!
Their excellent solar and internet setup allow them to work from the van while they travel, which means they aren’t planning on quitting van life anytime soon! They even run a small business from the van creating enamelware.

Emma was looking for complete and total freedom, as well as a way to live more sustainably and create less waste. Vanlife seemed like the perfect lifestyle for her, so she bought a camper van and gutted it, spending a year making it into her home.
Originally from Connecticut, Emma has taken the van cross-country and is enjoying her nomadic lifestyle (although COVID-19 has, unsurprisingly, put a wrench in her travel plans and reduced the number of showers she gets!). Here’s your chance to jump into van life, and support a good cause while you’re at it. Lindsey Maxwell (@wander_woman_go) has been living the #vanlife for a while now but used her time during COVID-19 after she lost her job to create a second van with her partner to sell.
But it’s not all for-profit: She’ll also be donating a portion of the profits to No Kid Hungry and the National Alliance to End Homelessness, which is pretty awesome!

Remember our story last week about Virginia’s retirement van-life? Meet Madison and Raynor (@vandmvanlife on Instagram), the masterminds behind her off-grid van renovation. This couple created their own solar-powered van and has created a whole business (Ray Outfitters) helping clients in Canada reach their tiny-living dreams.
After finding out the hard way that a 5th wheel RV can’t stand up to Canadian winters, Raynor — a licensed automotive mechanic — outfitted his own van capable of withstanding -40 Celsius temperatures. They’ve lived in this van for two years and are now in the process of building a permanent workshop where they can assist more clients. Emma and Luke said goodbye to their city lifestyle in Toronto, bought a 1979 Chevy Van and made it into an amazing home on wheels they’ve used to explore Nova Scotia, the East Coast of the USA, Mexico and now the West of Vancouver.
The van (named Brier) had a lot of water damage and rust and had to be stripped bare and rebuilt. It took the couple about 6 months from purchasing the vehicle to moving in full-time. But it was worth it: Emma says they love the freedom that vanlife affords them.

This cabin-inspired beauty is absolutely gorgeous — and yes, it does have a toilet (hidden under the bed) and even a full oven. Nikki and Ben are Commercial Photographer/Videographers (@nikkibigger on Instagram) and are able to travel when COVID-19 isn’t keeping them in one place.

Meet Ceri, Will, their puppy Piglet, and their amazing Sprinter Renovation with a ceiling bed.
Originally from Northumberland in the UK, the couple (@tothemountainsnback on Instagram) first bought their Sprinter thinking they’d use it for brief holidays, but fell in love with the tiny/nomadic community during renovations — they ended up moving into their van full-time. Will even changed his business style so he could work remotely and make money while traveling.
