Sometimes good things really do just fall in your lap! Hanna and Cody weren’t looking for a van, but when they saw one on the side of the road for sale by owner, and they had plenty of COVID-era free time on their hands, they chose to jump at the opportunity to convert it into a home on wheels!
They took out two of the extra passenger seats to allow for more room and an epic cooler. They did choose to leave the original orange shag carpet at the front of the van, but otherwise replaced it with laminate flooring that offers an easy-to-clean surface.

Not sure if you have already heard, but Tom Green, the famous comedian, has joined van life in 2020 with a Rocinante Boho Van, which is a Ram ProMaster 2500 high roof 159″ van converted into a camper by Boho Camper Vans out of Tempe, Arizona who we included them in our list of van builders, if you want to check that out later too.
What’s unique about this van conversion versus many others is that this one is designed to serve as a recording studio for Tom Green, where he creates music, podcasts, and other productions. With the van, he’s able to safely travel and explore, even during our current times, he’s even recently made it to Texas and has appeared as a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, where he tells all about his new van life.

Charlie and Dale work full-time, but when they hit the road to travel Europe this next year, they’ll be able to cut back to freelance work, work less, and climb more!
According to Charlie, vanlife has always been popular with climbers because of how easy it makes it to access the best climbing spots and still have a warm, dry “home” to head home to at the end of the day. After five years of saving and a couple months building out her 2005 Sprinter, she and her cat, Moose, hit the road. Moose is the coolest cat because he goes kayaking and hiking with Ellie! While she occasionally misses the conveniences of city life, she wouldn’t trade them for the freedom she has!

This woodworker had been thinking of vanlife for about 6 years, but when he neared his 30th birthday he decided it was time for a change for himself and his dogs. He sold his house, outfitted a gorgeous stealth van (he’s a woodworker, so the woodwork is amazing!), and hit the road.
While he planned to start a trip from Alaska to Argentina a few months back, that plan got derailed by COVID. That said, it’s still in the works for the future. For now, he’s enjoying getting in touch with himself on the road.

Deanna and James wanted to travel, so they renovated an adorable vintage camper together. However, they found it difficult to hitch up the camper and tow it from place to place, so they sold the camper and bought a van instead!
Their van allows them stealth and ease of parking, and this fully off-grid rig boasts a Tuscan-inspired aesthetic inside. I love that they included a shower and dry flush toilet in the build, making it a much more COVID-friendly travelling rig.
Unlike many van-lifers, they chose to use the back of the van as a multipurpose bed/office/dining/lounge area, complete with a hidden projector screen. Enjoy the video tour from Tiny Home Tours below!

Meet Clare Colins, one absolutely amazing 60-something who sold her house, paid off her mortgage and got rid of nearly everything she owned to travel Australia in her Mouse House van!
She spent an entire year sleeping every night her van, and then ended up purchasing a little half-acre (which she calls, “Happenstance”) in a rural area where she hopes to create a mini permaculture farm. On the property, where she spends only some of her time when not travelling, she has 16.5 x 13ft. shed house she calls La Shack.
Besides some new timbers necessary to keep it upright, everything else in the La Shack has been either donated, scrounged, repurposed or re-used! Clare is a photographer by trade, so check out some of her artwork below and make sure to tune into the video tour of the van at the end of the post.

Chad and Leanna — ages 26 & 24 — got married three years ago and knew they wanted out of their oversized townhouse and into tiny life — but they didn’t realize *how* tiny.
They started by gutting and renovating a 30-foot RV, but it was too difficult to travel with, so they decided to downsize into “Vinnie the Van” — a Ram Promaster Campervan. Now the couple and their dog have been on the road for three months. Leanna is a full time virtual health and wellness coach while Chad is a musician in his band.
