Charlie and Dale work full-time, but when they hit the road to travel Europe this next year, they’ll be able to cut back to freelance work, work less, and climb more!

According to Charlie, vanlife has always been popular with climbers because of how easy it makes it to access the best climbing spots and still have a warm, dry “home” to head home to at the end of the day. If you’re also interested in vanlife, the couple documented their journey on their website, and even offer a free van configurator service! Just fill out this form regarding what you need in a van, and they’ll send you a recommended layout. How neat!

We got to interview the couple about van living, so after the photo tour be sure to read their answers to the Q&A!

Deanna and James wanted to travel, so they renovated an adorable vintage camper together. However, they found it difficult to hitch up the camper and tow it from place to place, so they sold the camper and bought a van instead!

Their van allows them stealth and ease of parking, and this fully off-grid rig boasts a Tuscan-inspired aesthetic inside. I love that they included a shower and dry flush toilet in the build, making it a much more COVID-friendly travelling rig.

Unlike many van-lifers, they chose to use the back of the van as a multipurpose bed/office/dining/lounge area, complete with a hidden projector screen. Enjoy the video tour from Tiny Home Tours below!

You may be familiar with Mat and Danielle and their incredible Exploring Alternatives YouTube channel, where they show us an array of inspiring stories, not to mention, their own. So this is how they built out their second van conversion.

They went with a used 2015 Ford Transit van with a high roof and 148″ wheelbase. Once they got it, they started by adding a couple of windows, gathering natural and non-toxic materials for the build, and preparing the van for the conversion. They used things like hemp for insulation and cork for flooring. You’ll get to learn all about it right here in this post! Enjoy…

This is the story of how a 1989 Ford camper van has been modified and modernized into an off-grid solar motor camper. Or as Sharrieff Fareed of the DualEx/YouTube Channel calls it, an off-grid solar tiny house in a van.

So he acquired the van and used his DIY skills to carefully convert it into a modern tiny home (in a van) for a total of only $3,500 (including the cost of buying the van) and then turned around and sold it for $12,000 (after several months). You can always see what he’s up to next on his YouTube, Instagram, and website where he offers his Campervan Conversion Guide eBook.

Meet James, who grew up in a small town of about 900 people. He always dreamed of getting to hang out with people and just getting out and exploring. So at age 19, he did just that with his first van conversion. James took his experience of working at his hometown tea shop, and decided he would go around sharing that with the people he would meet along his travel which is exactly what he’s doing with his Air Nomad Cafe.

Since then, he has upgraded to the 2018 Promaster cargo van conversion that you can see right here (below). The inside has been completely retrofitted into a tiny cabin on wheels. And the outside has been repainted to give a retro vibe with the teal and white. It’s pretty cool! What do you think?

Marc & Jen (and their cat, Starla) from Box Truck Tessa are an adventurous couple who decided to sell their home, downsize their stuff, and try something new.

They wanted to re-design their lives according to what was most important to them: skiing, hiking, traveling, making music, and being self-employed. So they decided that a box truck would be the best way to accomplish that.
